This is a very nice small restaurant with spanish ambiente and lots of tapas. We ordered around 6 different plates and with every dish we had the feeling, that something was missing, but in the end still enjoyed every bite. Service was a bit slow as they forgot some orders and brought some wrong, but in the end it was a nice evening and we enjoyed it.

The little spot has two small sidewalk tables, about seven stools up at the bar and about eight tables. I stopped in for an early morning birthday beverage. The staff person that assisted me, Heidi, was super nice and a real treasure during my visit. I observed the Chef/owner come out often to chat with some of the regular customers. There are fresh cut flowers on all the tables, newspapers and magazines in this cozy little café.The place offers cakes, sandwiches, fruits, breads, breakfast and great hot beverages in the morning while during lunch they serve Indian food, soup, mezze, quiche and more. I ordered the soy milk hot chocolate (5CHF) and it was steamed well and tasted very good. They carry lactose-free and soy milk products, bonus points for this!There is soothing jazz music in the background, spotless restrooms and free secured Wi-Fi. It always gives me pleasures to write a review like this for a business that is run professionally, a staff person with a great attitude and all in a very cozy, welcoming spot! Well done. So nice to be at a Swiss restaurant that also provides nice and very friendly service. Coming from America I always feel that service is lacking in Swiss restaurants. Not here, service was great. Big points.Was also nice to see some other draft beers behind the typical Swiss or German beers which all taste the same. So big points for that.Unfortunately food was ok, nothing special. Came here for breakfast/brunch on a Saturday morning with our 2 little girls. Buffet type. You pay according to the weight of your plate (43chf/kilo). Itâs not cheap. But itâs Switzerland. We were a bit surprised by the âlackâ of variety on offer to be honest... a lot of savoury, salads, vegetarian dishes, breads, etc which is fine and everything we tasted was quite tasty. But it was lacking sweets and the usual foods you would expect at a European breakfast/brunch - ie. eggs. And you have to pay more (of course) for any sweet pastries.... This aside, everything is fresh, tasty, and itâs worth a try!Cute little kids area - a few toys, books and colouring pencils.

We reserved a table for yesterday evening for the first time and really enjoyed our visit. Lovely, friendly restaurant on the banks of the Rhine serving really delicious food. Service was especially good and weâre looking forward to a return visit on a sunny evening to sit outside.

We booked here from the UK having read the FB reviews as we were in Basel on holiday, my wife's a veggie and it was her birthday.Having read it was a little tricky to find, we took a picture of the building with us which helped. They have put up little yellow arrows to get you heading in the right direction once you've found the building.We were a group of seven and all of us each enjoyed the meal very much. That's both veggies and meat eaters.Setting being in the old brewery was a little industrial but that along with excellent service added to the charm.They also made a bit of a fuss for the birthday girl with a large indoor firework style candle.Mains should have been accompanied by soup or salad. These weren't offered but to be fair we didn't ask for them.If it wasn't thousands of miles away we'd be back but if in Basel again we definitely will be.Swiss food is far from cheap especially here but worth it.Oh it's also wheelchair accessible with a disabled loo too.Thank you very very much for your lovely review. Had a really great night out with the family at Hattoriâs. While the overall atmosphere was soso, the food was incredible. Main courses we would definitely recommend to try: octopus, seafood platter, and the duck. Really well done - teppanyaki style and cooked directly in front of you. It's very busy. Apart from having to share a table in order to get a seat we had a fabulous meal here. Chose set maze for 2 with meats @66CHF, it could easily have fed four. All around us people were taking doggie bags home. Service very good, food very good, price on a par for this country, over £100 including wine.Thank you for your evaluation :) There is always a lot going on in Za Zaa Petersgraben, so we recommend to book in advance.
