Hotpot Spot is a brand-new restaurant in the heart of Cardiff; the first hot pot restaurant in Wales, serving cuisine in the traditional Asian style.
Excellent service and excellent meal. The lovely waitress made sure we understood the concept and recommended what to order which was super helpful. Food was outstanding and we ate loads between the three of us. Will definitely be returning soon and bringing more people! A great social meal for friends or family.

This 2nd visit every bit as good as my first. Deliciously different. Very tasty beef grilled with noodles, beef super tender. Quick service, nice staff who are helpful to novices with Japanese food. Spoilt for choice so difficult to get it just right without going overboard, until we get used to it i guess.

Set well out of the city, but near fashionable Wellfield Road so free parking is easy. We visited, without reservations at lunchtime. This is âin your faceâ vegan eating, nothing animal based would dare slip through the door. I was worried that my leather shoes might be banned. But the welcome was warm and friendly. The furniture is sheekly shabby and the decor fits the eco-warrior vibe. (I was shocked that the pages in the menu lived in poly pockets.)If we had been in a hurry the service might easily have felt slow, but we werenât so that was fine. The starters of Patatas Bravas were generous, but for me a little bland. My main course salad was filling and tasty. And my friendâs âBreakfastâ, which came recommended by the staff, was a highlight.Pudding was a bit disappointing, firstly they had no nut free options and then my chocolate and hazelnut dessert was too large and too dense.A word about my KâPow drink, it was vividly green and surprisingly tasty for something with so much goodness. I would have no hesitation in eating there again. This was a good experience.

After receiving dreadful service & quality from the nearby competitor Nahin Spice Centre ( AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE) I decided to give this place a try.I wanted to order-order starters (canapés) for 40 people as I had a pre 6 nations rugby lunch the following day. Owner was present and together with all staff they gave outstanding service & advice. We picked take-away up at 12.30 and food quality was superb. 40 very happy eaters asking where we got food from.We will definitely use this place again, indeed as a local I canât believe Iâve never been before! Itâs very good.

I haven't been to this restaurant for some time but on my return I found the consistent quality of food and service had been maintained. The 2 courses for £9 lunch offer is incredible value .The food is freshly cooked and the family run restaurant has a very cosy atmosphere. Highly recommended if you like well cooked authentic cuisine.
