I wrote a similar review on google, but just had to second it here. This place is just too good. First of all, one correction to the profile: this place is not that expensive. $$ is more accurate with an average price R$30-60. There is great value on the menu. This is the best restaurant / bistro I've been to in Arraial. The value for money is off the charts. For those who speak English, the owner and chef Lucas is fluent and an awesome guy. He has been AMAZING attention to detail in everything he does and has clearly trained professionally in his craft. Every single dish I've tried there has been very good at worst, but rather phenomenal. I strongly suggest the black rice with grilled shrimp and octopus. Lucas also makes dishes and desserts that are not on the menu, so be sure to ask. And BaêA Café definitively has the best espresso I've tried out of about 10 in Arraial.

So. Much. Choice. One large table groaning with salads and vegetables, another filled with grilled and roasted meats and prepared dishes and all of it absolutely delicious. I say all of it - I barely sampled 5% of what was available - but my 9 companions certainly attempted to taste the rest. Returned on the following day eager to try what Iâd missed, only to find a whole different set of dishes, equally good. And then we found the dessert room...... Elevated Brazilian homestyle cooking. Great flavour to the dishes. Our moquecas of dorada and camarao were absolutely delicious!Quality service, napkins, drinks etc. And as mentioned by others, you get great service and table visits from the owner and his English speaking maitre'D daughter.

If you are looking for the best açai bowl or a healthy alternative to all the pizza and burger restaurants around, go there. I had the best açai bowl ever at this place! So delicious. Also very friendly and helpful staff. Highly recommended!
