Great food. We had the baby back ribs and the the chef selection fish (at the recommendation of our server Chad). Both dishes were fantastic. Our server was very friendly and the view is right on the water. I do recommend making a reservation if you want to sit closest to the water. We did not have one but were able to get a table close enough.Aloha Kim, thank you for joining us and leaving your feedback. We are thrilled you enjoyed your experience and we hit the mark for you. We hope you can join us again soon. Mahalo Nui Loa, Tina

This was a surprise find. Though the locals were well acquainted!! :) The price is definitely right here, so was the service and it was a pretty standard but well executed breakfast. Lots of options and some really good local favourite varieties of loco moco. No view, not fancy, but good breakfast for decent price served by nice staff.

Splashers Grill is a family owned, casual dining experience. We are located across from the ocean where most tables have a great view of the ocean and Kona pier. We are Famous for our burger and Fish Tacos and the best breakfast in Kona. We look forward t
Watched the 10 minute Kona Coffee Lantern Parade from the restaurant. Located right where the lantern parade started. Great crab cakes, aloi sauce too spicy for me but good. Good tea drink, just didn't taste the booze. Friendly staff where you were even asked by manager if food ok. Haven't been asked that in many years at a restaurant.

Kailua-Kona on Hawaiiâs Big Island is the site of our brewery and first restaurant. The brewpub opened in November 1998. In true Aloha spirit, we opted to make it out of locally-sourced materials, and we even built a 2,000 square-foot outdoor lanai that l

Stopped in for breakfast... very good, local food. Wasnât sure about the presentation because Iâm picky about my food touching. It was awesome though. Husband had the breakfast for champions .... he enjoyed it. Apparently Vienna sausages and spam is a thing ... he tried it and was pleased.

We stopped here for lunch while visiting the area. Parking can be tricky but itâs worth the effort for good, fresh local food at non-tourist prices. We ate at the benches outdoors. It was a more authentic, and probably tastier, lunch than we would have gotten at a nearby tourist stop. Aloha,Mahalo for your comments. We are very happy to hear that you enjoyed your meal with us! We hope to have you join us again someday soon to try out more favorites. Have a wonderful day,Umekes Management Team

During our stay at the fabulous Four Seasons Hualalai, we had the pleasure of eating breakfast at Ulu several mornings and enjoyed a romantic dinner, overlooking the sparkling Pacific Ocean at sunset. Dinner was a showstopper. Appetizers included oysters, shrimp potstickers, and octopus. The shrimp potstickers may very well be my new favorite food! Do not miss these treasures! My husband is an oyster lover, and the oysters at Ulu were among the best he had ever tasted. They served the fresh Hualalai oysters that are harvested onsite, with a couple of different sauces and a small bottle of their homemade Hawaiian chili pepper hot sauce, which is outstanding. I wish there was a way to bring their specialty hot sauce home. The octopus was excellent and beautifully presented. All three appetizers were winners. As a main course, I ordered the Charred Hawaiian Hapu'upu'u, which was cooked to perfection and served with lemongrass creamed Hilo corn, romesco, and yuzu beurre blanc. It. Was. AMAZING! The pairing of the fish with the corn, romesco, and yuzu beurre blanc was perfection. My husband opted for the Cold Water Lobster Tails entree, which was served with Dungeness crab, chuka soba noodles, uni butter, and salted egg yolk. It was a masterpiece! We still had the Hawaiian chili pepper hot sauce from the oysters, so he added a few drops to the soba noodles to give them a little kick. Both of our entrees were spectacular. For dessert, we shared the souffle special of the night, which was Kona coffee with toffee, and we absolutely loved it. Our server who orchestrated this beautifully choreographed meal, Bronson, was warm, welcoming, knowledgeable, and professional. He made our evening extra special and our anniversary dinner unforgettable. Ulu manager, Paul Jennette, even welcomed us and introduced us to the incredible executive chef, Thomas Bellec, who was just as charming. Our entire Ulu dinner experience was above and beyond. The phenomenal food, sensational view, and xenial team, together make Ulu a dining experience like no other. If you want to experience breakfast in paradise, this is it! Breakfast options are plentiful and there is also a buffet option. This trip, we only ordered from the menu and did not partake in the buffet, but it looked plentiful, clean, and well organized. Over several days, we tried a variety of their breakfast specialties. Our favorites included the divine coconut tapioca with fresh fruit, the eggs Benedict with smoked salmon (just ask and they will gladly swap salmon for the bacon), the lemon ricotta pancakes, the Hualalai pancakes with lilikoi syrup, the acai bowl, and their French press Kona Coffee. You really can't go wrong with any of the breakfast selections, and the view is ethereal. Starting off the day, and ending the day at Ulu made for ultimate vacation dining experience. We will definitely be back! Aloha grlgrdgate,Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful review! We're so glad you enjoyed your experiences at Ulu Restaurant. We always strive to provide our guests the best to create a memorable stay. I'll definitely be sure to share this with our Service and Culinary team at Ulu. We hope to see you back very soon at Hualalai! Alessandro CartuminiDirector of Food & [email protected]

First of all, the address given here is wrong. The recent new address, a much larger location, is 75-5864 Walua Road, Kailua-Kona, HI. 'll try to get that corrected in the listing. Second, it is every bit as good as people are saying in the reviews. Friendly, helpful staff, excellent food and drinks. We tried the "nacho" appetizer, which replaces corn chips with crispy chicken skin and some unique toppings; it was delicious, and split that and the Mento Bento, a dish featuring chicken, beef ribs and Spam (!) with eggs, which was also great. The two different margaritas we ordered were also excellent. We plan to eat there several more times during our stay.

Coming back the long way from Hilo towards dinner we located this ahead of us using TA. With pretty good reviews we decided to stop by. They had a great ambiance and we were pretty casual after our trip, but you could make this a dressy outing too. We had a wonderful table near a door so we got a breeze (& to watch rain). Our server Chris was very attentive. When my grandaughter had drawn photos on all the paper in front of her, he moved her sideways & brought more crayons for her art.The G-kids had Lobser and they loved it. We had among us the BBQ Ribs, Pork Chop & Burger. And of course we had desserts! We left full and satisfied.Great place along the road.Aloha PeeDeeR--- I'm glad you found us on the return leg of your Hilo adventure. Sounds like Christian helped find your grandkids art supplies and that your family had a nice dining experience. Super!!! I appreciate you taking the time to give us some feedback--- good or bad, feedback helps keep us moving forward.Enjoy your vacation--- Paul, the owner

Our "take-out" style shop specializes in poke bowls and plates, featuring a variety of locally caught ahi tuna. Our poke is always fresh, never frozen...guaranteed! We also serve shrimp, tako and taegu poke. For those in your ohana who do not eat fish we
Ate her in 2013, last time we were on the Big Island. The poke here is fantastic! Added feather in their cap, they are serving in compostable take away containers. Prices have gone up (almost doubled) about 30% in last 6 years...but still competitive with other places and I think BEST poke in the area for sure.
