Your typical Hole-In-The-Wall family run restaurant. Location is nice, a five minute walk from Kailua Beach. Got hungry after a morning of kayaking and snorkeling so stopped in for my favorite; Loco Moco. Rather disheartening, the very light brown (mushroom) gravy was very bland, hardly any taste to it. Seemed like it was from a can because it was also rather runny instead of thick. It's the gravy that makes or breaks a Loco Moco in my opinion so there is much room for improvement here. (Best Loco Moco is HI Steaks on Kuhio Ave)The lemon chicken had problems too. They breaded and deep fried the chicken with the skin and a lot of fat still on it. All the chicken was thigh meat (dark meat), no breast meat at all. Really disappointing. On the plus side, very large portions, you get your money's worth. A full order can feed two moderate eaters very easily. A half order would fill most any appetite. Their macaroni salad was very good, best part of our meals. First experience was disappointing but I would be willing to go back again and try their chicken katsu or beef teriyaki.

Happy hour from 4-6 on Saturday. Only drinks. Music was about to start but we ducked out.Started with ahi nachos. Ahi on fried won ton chips. Delicious! Then a salad with crab cake and shrimp pasta. Everything was fantastic.Like this place better than the Nicoâs at the port. Little loud but folks were having fun.

The food company is a very good plate lunch place with all the typically local grinds. Perfect for a plate lunch experience. But THIS is a review of FC (Food Company) Cafe ... owned and operated right next door by the same people, but a very different experience. This is fine dining - and it is really good! Frankly, I didn't even know that this fine dining option existed. The food is very inventive and generally excellent. We ordered the soft mozzarella appetizer (I forget the Italian name) with olive oil for the table. My wife (who is a picky foodie) said it was the best she ever had.She also ordered a pasta dish with fresh crab which she declared to be marvelous. I ordered a salmon prepared with Thai spices - fantastic. My sister ordered two appetizers as her entree (beet salad ... "fantastic" and fish tacos "don't order tacos in Hawaii" - she's from California. Entrees were mid $20s and up. We shared a flour-less chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream for dessert. No liquor license, but you can bring your own wine. No "corkage fee" but a $2 per glass charge for the set up. The restaurant was pretty crowded for a Wednesday night and although they only had one server she did an amazing job keeping everything on track. Wonderful experience. Sorry I didn't know it was here before. I'll be back!!!

This restaurant is on the east side of the island. Located in Kailua. Get here early. It definitely gets crowded. We waited 45 minutes. We had loco moco and fish (not in the menu). The flavor was really good. Pancakes looked huge and yummy. Cash only.

We were craving some fresh, tasty poke, and this place was recommended in the Kailua/Lanikai Beach area. We love our poke by the pound, sold market/deli counter style. There are varieties with regular and premium fish options. Half of the shop is devoted to seafood and groceries, while another half is all about both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. You can get marinated fish and meat here, and have it grilled on the bbq grill outback, facing the parking lot, and enjoy your food on the busy patio area facing the street. We took our poke selection with sides of rice and enjoyed overlooking the water, at a nearby beach park, on our way back to Waikiki.

such a large menu that I figured they couldn't do it all well, right? Wrong. we were very happy we traveled over from the west side. Ordered and shared about seven dishes, all were good. And the prices are very reasonable

We dined outdoors (quieter) and had a delightful dinner. I ordered the Red Curry fish dinner which was delicious. My husband had Duck Confit which he said was very tasty and since the portion was generous, he took some home for lunch the next day. Our friend ordered the garlic shrimp and he ate all of it, claiming it to be the best. I also ordered a chocolate macadamia nut martini which I should have ordered for desert since it was a strange combination with the Red Curry Fish, but tasty nevertheless. Our only complaint is that they don't serve Coors Light among their 14 types of beer. Waiter was helpful with recommendations, attentive without being intrusive.

Really good service, food, and not bad on the wallet. Nothing you can do about the wait on the weekends...

Cmon, admit it. How many of you have travelled to a new city, sought out the best breakfast spots, waited in line to be seated and received a "pretty good" breakfast. Hey, it happens all the time. Pancakes, eggs, hash, whatever. Lots of places do them pretty well. Now open your mind to the possibility of a restaurant that takes breakfast to the next level. That my friends is Over Easy. The custard French toast with crime fraiche is unbelievable. How about perfect pancakes...Or try an egg sandwich with Portuguese sausage on a buttery, perfectly crunchy toast. We're talking simple dishes, with great ingredients, prepared with a level of skill and care that puts you in your happy place every time. The staff is pleasant and professional, and the food... my god... the food. Just go! This is quite possibly the greatest breakfast spot on earth! I mean it.
