Blending classic techniques with adventurous Pacific Rim flavors, culinary pioneer Roy Yamaguchi created an entirely new approach to fine dining. The first Roy's opened in Honolulu in 1988 and we've spread our warm hospitality and passion for innovative a
We dined at Royâs last night for a birthday celebration dinner. Iâm a little disappointed in Royâs. They used to have special printed menus for the birthday celebrant etc. No more. Also gone, the great vegetarian entrees. Vegetarians are left with 2 entrees and one sushi roll. The vegetable napoleon is a grilled vegetable plate over mashed potatoes. The tofu âsteakâ is served over veg with a small side of rice. The food is tasty and the service is good but I miss the edamame, vegetarian bento box and rim fire tofu. Our server didnât offer to see if anything special could be made for us. Such a shame.

First time to this very cool retro beach community. Arrived around 10:30am Friday morning for brunch. Waited about 10 minutes for a table for six on the deck. Incredible bloody Maryâs with grilled shrimp and a colossal crab claw. The avocado toast was to die for with ripe avocado, balsamic vinegar and over medium poached egg - highly recommend!

Billy's is just a great place to have a nice fish (or steak) dinner, with friendly staff and a happy atmosphere. They make a great vacation drink (MaiTais are a specialty) but the martinis are good too!. Great appetizers (coconut shrimp or ahi poke are the best) Fabulous fresh fish - swordfish, halibut, salmon, seabass. Great view of the harbor. Three options for seating - you can sit outside in the covered patio (probably the quietest), in the bar area, where you can watch the latest game or listen to live music, or in the restaurant - best views but when the band starts up, expect it to be loud.
