Welten was founded in 1983, earning since then an excellent reputation; not only for our dishes, but also for the personal attention with which they are served. Each area has been carefully decorated in its own distinctive style to sit the mood and taste
Loved this little gem! We stopped by for lunch while walking around Antigua and so glad we did. If you sit outside in the back, there is a stunning view of the volcano. It is quite and peaceful and the pool is beautiful. The food was good but we really loved the view!

The place is really nice and the service was really good, the only thing I have to complain about is that it took them about 25-30 minutes to serve us the food and the place wasn't fullThanks you for your review we are gonna investigate why this happened and solve it right away.

27 Adentro is a casual and relax bistro, with the flavors of our Latin American food. Located in a traditional Colonial courtyard, 27 Adentro offers an open, bright and fresh ambient, with colorful decoration, good Latin music and all the freshness of loc
The owner/host/staff are marvelous - friendly and welcoming, As such, we decided to try their advertised "coffee and chocolate flan" after a nearby dinner elsewhere - it sounded like a unique and tasty creation. The presentation of the dessert was amazing - clearly the creation of a pastry chef - but the food itself was disappointing to eat. The flavor of the flan was OK (nothing special, but not 'bad'), however the texture of the dessert was decidedly un-flan like: thick and dense, not soft and almost crumbling to the touch, like some of the really excellent flans we have had in Latin America. A great idea, amazing presentation, and somewhat disappointing to eat.Dear ManishMM, Thank you very much for your visit and for your review. We really appreciate it. After reading it, we checked and realized that in this batch indeed, the flan was dense, and not creamy and soft as it has to be. We would like to apologize and hope to have the opportunity to make it up to you in a next visit. Best regards, 27 Adentro Team.

Author cuisine inspired in Guatemala, reciently we have a post in âThe New York Timesâ After years of work in world-renowned restaurants, the Chilean Chef Rodrigo Salvo opens the doors of a new gastronomic proposal "Quiltro" is a first class restaurant in
This restaurant deserves all its superlatives. Very simple, a little bit away from the hustle and bustle of Antigua the chef-owner Rodrigo is a gastronomic genius who trained in Brazil, Spain and Denmarkâs legendary Nobu restaurant. The seven, eight or ten course tasting menus bring original surprise after surprise. Excellent local ingredients, each course finely balanced with the next and a marvellous combination of unpredictable flavours. Two wines ,one Portuguese the other Spanish, complement the food exactly. Must book. You will not be disappointed.

Small intimate restaurant that make homemade dishes. We specialize in soup and Guatemalan CALDOS, which is like a soup on steriods! We buy all of our produce fresh from the local market and cook everything from scratch. For our customers that arent too in
I really liked this restaurant for its reasonable prices and delicious soups. Everything tasted really fresh and I was satisfied with having soup for supper as they are very hearty. Cilantro is a main component in many of the soups, so if you don't like cilantro be sure to check before you order as it's not indicated on the menu.

Without exaggeration one of the finest meals we have had. We spent a week in Antigua which was delightful and had been advised of this restaurant - and its tasting menu. The interior is quite beautiful - steeped in history . We selected the tasting menu with 8 courses for Q315.00. I see that based on the quality of the food as decent value. The dishes included Mozzarella, Cauliflower Humus,Seabass with celery puree, lemon sorbet, pancetta, angus beef, chocolate mousse and baked apples pave. All beautifully, imaginatively cooked. We often think with tasting menus, the chefs try almost too hard to impress or be radical. Not here. Excellent service to accompany stunning food.If you visit Antigua and enjoy fine dining please visitDear Chrisunlesley,Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful compliments for your dining experience at El Refectorio in Casa Santo Domingo. We are delighted you enjoyed your time with us, and especially appreciate your kind words for our team, as well as your high regard for our wine selections. It will be our pleasure to welcome you again the next time you visit La Antigua Guatemala.

Went here with family recently and was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food. Everyone enjoyed their meals except my son who ordered the BBQ ribs. The BBQ sauce is nothing like the States so he didn't like them too much. It was some kind of local sauce, but not traditional BBQ. Other than that, the meats were good and pretty much everything was tasty. My only complaint was that the price was what you would expect in the States, not Guatemala. So, this is probably a hot spot for tourists. Service is pretty good too. Dear Stacman ; thank for you review and for you visit i apreciate you like our food our place and our service ; if you permit i would like to make an aclaration ; you are right the sauce it s not the same than in the U.S beaucause we are in Guatemala and we had our own ingredient and we dont want to copy when you travel normaly you want to taste diferent type of food ; then pricey but GOOD , yes it s pricey beaucause we use good imported product and organic product but it s not a tourist place 70 per cent of our customers are from Guatemala...And please por favor ; s il vous plait last week i was in Boulder Colorado and the price of a Quinoa Salad it s the price of a steak in my place , a pasta it s 2 steaks ; i eat a 8 onz buffalo steak in Denver the cost was 46 us wirhout tip( 18 ; 20 o 25 no choice here it s 10) ; so excuse me but Las Antorchas it a free for you and i pay 7 usd for a broccoli in a super market price of a salad in Las Antorchas...Thank you again for you visit and i m very happy than you and you family envoy the meal...
Good Wine, Great Food and Wonderful welcome staff. We are located in the heart of this magical Colonial City
Since you may only read my first line, i must disclose i was asked to write a review in trip advisor right there in the restaurant in exchange for a free dessert, i did not want dessert, so i did not do it. If they make this offer to all customers, this may skew the real ratings. We went there with very high expectations. The place is quaint, but there are so many other quaint restaurants in Antigua that in my view it only scores average. Next, let me rate the food, and in this category i must say that it under delivered. The food was ok, but nothing great about it. I had the calamari and the chicken pepian, and both were pretty average. There are other restaurants equally good in Antigua. My wifeâs wine was oxidized, but i got to give the restaurant credit, they replaced it and did not charge at all. Lastly, the service was very good, the waiter was very cordial, and attentive. In this area probably Pistilos scores higher. All in all, i had better overall experiences (cost vs food) in Antigua during my visit.Good afternoon Salvadora, thank you so much for your honesty, we do appreciate everybody who takes the time to provide us with their feedback. I am sorry you found us average or less than that, we work hard to please all of our customers, but no doubt it is impossible to do so. But I can tell you that the calamari fritti and the chicken pepian don't do justice to any chef, you can tell when a pepian is not good, but if it is good is average the same for the calamari. I just want to let you know we care for our clients and we do want your business, please come back and try something else my treat.Always at your service.
