We thoroughly enjoyed this modest, humble kitchen! Servuce was thoughtful and genuine. I ate one of the most memorable coconut sambolâs that Iâve had to date. Also enjoyed coconut rotti, hoppers, and a fresh, made-to-order green curry. Definitely worth stopping by!

The family is very sweet. First she let me take a shower in her house even if I was not staying there. Then we went view time for breakfast and it was very good. We had some curd, treacle, fruits and juices. Is located in a quite area apart from the touristic street. Is a good place to relax and eat sth. They also have room available for a very reasonable price.i totally recommend it if you want a local experience

Deshanâs street sign on the road to Goyambokka Beach advertises rooms and restaurant. We did not stay here, but stopped in for dinner on the recommendation of others staying at our guest house, Calm Garden Cabanas, nearby. The food was delicious, the beer was cold, and the service was friendly and responsive. We returned a couple of times, and enjoyed each meal very much. Highly recommended. Ivan & Linda, Canada

We knew the owner from previous visits and were happy to see him in his new venture, the food was exceptionally good and freshly prepared. Service good and sitting areas very nice for relaxed and enjoyable evening meal, also drinks available to chill out. Couldn't speak more highly of the establishment and will return .

This was my favourite meal from the whole time I was in Sri Lanka. Delicious local food and a very welcoming lovely family. We ordered a wide range of dishes but my favourite was the vegetarian curry and rice (pumpkin curry, okra curry, dhal, coconut sambal).I canât recommend it enough! The true taste of Sri Lanka!

We tried 3 local restaurants during our stay at the Anatara and this one was our favourite. The food was amazing, the owner runs cooking classes and her son, our waiter was both funny and delightful. The ambience of the restaurant was great also. Whilst the meal options were limited to a choice of fish, prawn, chicken or calamari curry, the food was delectable. I chose prawn and my husband chose chicken. The accompanyments were delicious. The total price for drinks and food was 3700 LKR. We can This was superb Sri-Lankan food for a very reasonable price. If you are staying at the Anatara, itâs just a very short 1.4 km tuk tuk ride at a cost of 300 LKR each way.
