5 of us ate here last weekend. My main course (schnitzel) arrived a long time after the others (my father in law was just finishing his) without apology. It was a soggy greasy mess and the worst schnitzel I have tasted. My wife's special chicken dish was much better. I should have checked the bill but quickly hid it so that neither my parents-in-law nor the over 80 year old who was our guest did not try to pay as I wanted to treat them. That is why I failed to realise until we returned home that I had been charged twice for my late and poor quality main course. So my rubbish late schnitzel cost EUR 22.We ate here before last year and had a good experience but shall not bother returning again. I suspect the problem may have been related to their being very busy - so much so that we were accommodated in the associated ice-cream parlour next door. But still no excuse for shoddy service and overcharging.

We had been to an early evening concert at the Bach museum and were looking for a meal nearby. We liked the menu so went in. There was an amusing altercation as we asked what the difference between a roast "reh" and a roast "hirsch" . We knew both were venison. The waiter did not know and asked some customers, one thought that the "reh" had antlers and the other did not, the other said one was big and onme was small. Anyway I ended up having the one that was a euro cheaper than the other. When we got home and looked in our dictionary we found one meant deer and the other meant stag so we were still none the wiser. Anyway I had the roast deer with red cabbage two large dumplings and a berry sauce and my husband had the deer goulash w ith the same accompaniments., With the dumplings , it was so filling we could not manage a dessert though they had some tempting ones. The food was very good.
