Mansfield (/ˈmænzˌfiːld/) is a market town in Nottinghamshire, England. It is the main town in the Mansfield local government district and is a part of the Mansfield Urban Area. Nestling in a pocket within the Maun Valley surrounded by hills, the town is around 12 miles (19 km) north of Nottingham. The district of Mansfield is a largely urban area situated in the north west of Nottinghamshire populated by 99,600 residents, the vast majority of whom live in Mansfield (including Mansfield Woodhouse), with Market Warsop a secondary centre, and the remainder in the rural north of the district. Adjacent to the urban area of Sutton-in-Ashfield, Mansfield is the only major sub-regional centre in Nottinghamshire covering an area of 30 square miles (78 sq km). The Centre for Cities (2009) categorises the town as a 'small city', although it does not officially hold city status.

The food here is amazing and the place is always busy when I go. The staff are friendly and helpful and I can't praise the place enough. Strongly recommend the bacon, poached egg and halloumi wholemeal muffins.

We'd previously experienced the worse and longest service at the Oak Tree the week before, so we had everything crossed for the Talbot.I'd pre-ordered and booked our table for 12, for 12 people, and I initially spoke to Jordan who was very polite and helpful over the phone. I also spoke to other members of staff in the run up to our lunch and they couldn't be anymore helpful.When we arrived on site, we were served at the bar by Leanne who was very accommodating, quick, polite, chatty, pleasant and had a smile on her face. We all sat down and a few minutes later the chef was bringing out our food! We couldn't believe it, as this was 100% better than what we'd received at the Oak Tree, it's called Team work, and it was really nice to see.The food came out on hot plates, the presentation was there, the food came out hot, crispy, and plentiful we couldn't find fault. We just couldn't believe the difference from the week before, we all ate our food in silence enjoying every mouthful, and Leanne came and carried out a table check (which we didn't get at our last lunch) and I can promise you that all the plates were empty!They gave us exactly what we asked for and we were in there less than an hour, not nearly 2 hours when we visited the Oak Tree!!We've decided that we will definitely visit there again in the near future, as some of my colleagues missed out.Hi Tania,Thank you for this amazing review it is massively appreciated! Visited last weekend for dinner, and left the place pleased overall.Had the burger, it was quite nice. Bun was fresh, bacon with cheese also added a lot of flavor. I would have liked the actual beef pattie to be slightly bigger/thicker, as it looked fairly smallish, compared to the size of the bun.Salad that came with it was very fresh too.Highlight was the chips. Great taste! Probably homemade.Service was very good. Friendly people.Decor was a bit dated, but to be honest it doesnât matter. If a refurbishment took place and the cost was passed onto the customers (eg. by increasing prices), then Iâd sooner leave it as it is.Will come again, but next time I will probably try the cod n chips, me thinks. One of the other customers had ordered it, and it looked enormous!

I took my wife to Sandy Pate for Sunday lunch after reading the reviews on here. i called and booked a table so that we didn't miss out. we got there just before 2 pm and were seated straight away. the staff were very efficient and we had our drinks within minutes. the food was fantastic. probably one of the best Sunday dinners we have had out. there was plenty on the plate and a very good selection on vegetables. we had a wobbly table which made cutting the food a bit of a trial, that being said, they did offer to move us to another table. If i had one gripe, it would be that instead of having the sound on the TV's for the football they had capital FM on! come on people, its a sports bar!!! On the whole, it was a very nice experience and we cant wait to go back and try some other things on the menu.

This is the 4th time I have been to WaterLily. Yet again the night was fantastic. The whole Bollywood experience was amazing. The food..... beautiful! Although the place was packed, we didnât have to wait long at all for our orders. Molly and Hasan make everyone feel so very welcome from beginning to end. Visited here for dinner with husband on a Saturday night,we had pre booked a table and had drinks at the bar whilst waiting.The staff here are friendly, the venue lively and close to town, food was very good and service great.
