Discover Restaurants offering the best Grill food in Kyoto, Kyoto Prefecture, Japan. Kyoto is Japan's most traditional city. The lush and verdant cityscape encompasses sprawling rock gardens, vast palaces, and tall temples. The streets are alive with businessmen hurrying past Geiko and Makio in their full kimono, both on their way to work along cherry-tree lined walks. A historic hub that celebrates Japanese culture, from kabuki to textile weaving, Kyoto can also be surprisingly modern. It is one of Japan's largest, busiest, and most visited cities, with packed shopping mega-centers and high-rise offices. Suffused with shrines, outdoor markets, and nature walks, the small but bountiful location is also home to some of Japan's most contemporary architectural marvels, hippest cafes and eateries, and modish local brands and shops. It makes Kyoto a playful and sublime city, studded with as many bars and hole-in-the-wall fried food shops along the Kamogawa river as it is suffused with ancient ryokan and delicate wagashi shops. Kyoto is in the cross-hairs of Japan's most artful past and its energetic present.

The BEST place KOBE BEEF & Wagyu experience!! we cook special original sauce since 1955. It will be great dinner time⪠(also ready for chicken / chop / seafood) Why do not you choose?
Compared to other placed around the area this is a great place for Kobe meat at a reasonable and fair price. The staff is friendly and the young chef was very happy to serve us directly while sitting at the bar. You could feel that he was quite proud of his cooking. The place is not super fancy or highlighting anything but just serving good food in a great Japanese style. That's right. Our place is very simple. Here is a place where you can eat the highest quality Japanese beef. âWhat elseï¼â (Â´Ï `)ããã«?

Everything about our experience at Ooagari in the Gion area of Kyoto was fantastic. This was our first meal in the cityâ¦One of the uniquely Japanes style course restaurants where they keep bringing you food, small course after small course. They are very vegetarian and gluten free friendly. Quick note, theyâre on the second floor of the building and thereâs another restaurant on the first floor, so make sure you head up the stairs to get to the good stuff.Itâs small inside but you have your choice between tables, or counter seats where you can watch the chef prepare your food.Theyâre also very English friendlyâ¦and well, just friendly in general. They were happy to see us, serve us, and sit down and talk with us.There was sweet, traditional Japanese music playing which added to the lovely atmosphere. We started with the Kyoto sake sampler (specifically serving us 3 different sakes brewed within the Kyoto area.) You can choose a broader geographic region for your sake as well. Then the food started coming. A salad with silken tofu and baby corn, followed by corn mousse with plum wine marinated tomatoes, then daikon radish with mushroom miso sauce, followed by two long peppers and a potato called dengaku which had a rubbery, fish like texture, and finally a soft tofu soft served in Japanese broth which super, super tastyThey brought as a palate cleanser of 2 flavors of shaved ice (citrus and lime). The lime was bolder then we would have liked, but orange was good. (These were served in tiny little bowls which delighted my wife.)The main course was a Kyoto style âokanomiyakiâ which is a Pancake with different layers of all kinds of things on top of it including a conglomerate of cabbage, onions, ginger, topped with a beautiful egg. This was our first time having anything like this and it was delicious. The fried egg was perfect, and the whole thing was especially good with French âPetit Pointâ sauce they served it with. Okonomiyaki is uniquely Japanese and different regions have their own style as we learned later on a visit to Hiroshima where they served âHiroshima Styleâ Okonomiyaki. We loved everything about our experience here. We felt well catered to as vegetarians. Their menu, and staff were super friendly and we had a fantastic conversation with one of the owners who sat with us and genuinely seemed interested in who we were and our experience so far in Japan. 5 stars all around.Wow... I can't appreciate it enough for sharing our details!! After your visit we've keep improved food accommodation for vegetarian/vegan and are finally going be listed on happycow and vegewell next month. We just want to say thank you so much for you folk's help and feedback!

Cosy place on Pontocho lane. First time to taste Wagyu. Reasonable prices. GREAT taste. We had the Wagyu sushi which had a bit of drama. The steak was delicious. The broccoli with anchovie gave me some good recipe ideas. The wine was a nice chilean red which went really well with the steak. Highly recommend. You won't get a nicer steak in this price range.

One chef per group - we were four. V. expensive menu. Wine was reasonably well priced. Food was ding, ding, ding - superb. Every course was perfectly served, delicious, and different. We chose all three standards of steak, and all were excellent. Service was personal, friendly and pleasant. Two teens very happy; two adult even happier. Really impressed. One tip. Make sure you confirm your booking directly. We arrived at a slightly awkward time when a nice French family who had booked 'via an agent' were informed that there was no record of their booking. Poor them, they missed out.

Didnât have the Kobe but the steak we had was extremely well cooked and delicious. The standards of the sides also top notch - particularly the wedges which may have been the best Iâve had. Service was good and staff catered for us appropriately. Would come back.

Exquisite steak can be tasted in 5 minutes on foot from Gion Shijo Station. We buy one Kobe beef and offer it by aging (dry aging). It is very time-consuming and time-consuming to make Kobe beef mature and it will be rare value meat. Please enjoy rare mea
The food and atmosphere are amazing. I went with a Japanese friend who speaks a little English, and I don't speak much Japanese. Fortunately our waiter had excellent English, and was kind enough to translate all of his conversation for me. It really helped me to enjoy the memorable meal. Also, we went on a Saturday afternoon around 1, and had the place to ourselves. Just us, the waiter and the chef. Great Japan experience.
