Reviews on Grill food in Kobe, Hyogo Prefecture, Japan. Famous for its luscious beef and crisp, pure sake, the Japanese port of Kobe is a thriving metropolitan city with an international feel. The sake-brewing season runs from October through April, and that's the best time to take a tour of a kura (the Japanese word for brewery). Visit the Hakutsure Sake Brewery Museum year-round. Naturally, the nightlife here is prime perfection.

We visited with a tour group and encountered excellent service and fresh, perfectly prepared food. We asked our chef to prepare the beef medium rare, and it was perfect. Tender and succulent. The veggies were also perfectly cooked. We started with a corn soup and enjoyed rice and veggies with the beef. There wasnât a lot of showmanship, like at a hibachi place in the US, but it was interesting nevertheless to see how he sliced and diced.

The selected highest quality "Kobe beef". The restaurant of grill with hot plate, which uses only champion "Kobe beef" received a highest award.
If you go to Kobe and want to try fine and authentic Kobe beef, look for the golden cow on the from of the restaurant.Don't compare prices because there are so many restaurants offering ridiculous low prices compare to what you pay in this place.Yes, it is expensive. I would say it is a place for once in a lifetime meal, but we went to Kobe to expressly have the real deal and we couldn't be happier with this restaurant. The place only seats 10 people. The decor is minimalist and kind of dramatic, perfect for what they serve there. We had lunch together with our two kids (12 and 8 and with such a good palate) We opted for the set menu which included: Beef sashimi, roast beef, beef broth, our selection of steak cooked on the teppanyaki, salad, miso soup, rice and dessert (creme brûlée).Every single plate was presented to us by Mr. Kenji who was so nice and friendly, specially to our kids. We followed every single step of how they cook and cut the beef, while our waiter explained to us about the whole process of selection of the product. They proudly exhibit their certificates, awards and the famous Golden Cow trophy.Genkichi serves Champion beef only which means they offer a product with the highest certification on that matter, and it represents only 1% of the annual production (50 cows per year!!) so yes, we ate the best beef in the whole world and it tasted like it. We paired it with Yamazaki 18 years and Hibiki. We also tasted a couple of sake bottles courtesy of the house. It was a memorable experience, and we had dine at amazing places before (Michelin stars restaurants included) but here, the product is the star of the show.

Serving some of the finest Kobe Beef Japan has to offer, Medium Rare Steakhouse is a 'must visit' when in Kobe. Authentic Kobe Beef grilled to order is only the tip of the iceberg, Medium Rare also serves Kuroge Wagyu and Hida beef as well as an assortmen
The Oriental Hotel in Kobe is a well-known hotel in Kobe among Japanese. It's nostalgic ambience and service are their signature. The Steak House Medium Rare had been emailing me several weeks before about our lunch to make sure the arrangements are okay. They have staff with good English ability. My first visit there is impressed with their care into details because my husband and I were bringing our two kids (8 yo and 2 yo), my mom and my auntie. My group ranges from infant to elderly. They have about 4 to 5 individual teppanyaki stations in the room with a nice view overseeing the harbor. Each station is perfect for 2-4 persons although ours is a bit crowded but we chose not to split into two stations.Food-wise, the ingredients are fresh. Price is reasonable especially for lunch. After the meal, we are led to another cozy room for coffee/tea and desserts. We went during X'mas days, and the decoration of the whole hotel was gorgeous. Moms can do some high-end shopping in areas around the hotel. Not far away from the hotel, kids can go to the Maritime Museum and Kawasaki Good Times World (an exhibition hall of Kawasaki products including motorcycle, model trains, robots, etc) that kids will definitely enjoy. The two exhibition halls are connected, and you only need to pay one entrance fee to enjoy two.Dear Annie C,Thank you for your thorough review of us here on TripAdvisor. We are glad to hear that you enjoyed your visit with us and that everything was to your liking.Needless to say, we are constantly trying to improve ourselves in order to better serve our guests, and your comments are not only a boost in confidence, but a great reminder that the work we are doing is being felt by our guests.Thank you again for your comment and we look forward to having the opportunity to serve you again in the future.

We went for lunch and selected their A4 set meal - personal preference we prefer A4 with slightly more meat taste while still having the wagyu tenderness. Go for the fried rice too! The set definitely gets you full. Everything was well cooked and seasoned! Recommend also a la carte cuttlefish - delicious and good portion. Staff speaks sone English.

The most amazing Kobe steak experience! Freshly made and very timely too, no waiting about here! The chef is fantastic, very friendly and charismatic and can speak very good English. His 91 year old mother is incredible, she takes over and cooks up the rice, apparently she used to own a restaurant where she was from. Fantastic red wine, a must have! And the chef also happens to be a sommelier. I definitely definitely recommend!

One of the best culinary experiences Iâve had in Japan. Coming to Kobe, naturally I wanted to have the most authentic Kobe beef, and this restaurantâs quality was beyond my expectations. I got the A5 Kobe beef tenderloin, and the marbling on it was nothing less than beautiful. The whole dinner set was just the right amount of food, with the beef playing the main character but not taking all the spotlight. Various kinds of vegetables, the salad, appetisers and dessert were also delicious and memorable. Highly recommended if youâre in Kobe and looking for the best.
