This is restaurant is in a new section of the Pedestrian Street in Guilin and not even listed on google maps. I got the address, but it's all in Chinese. The place has only been open for 6 weeks.

As a teacher living in Guilin, American Grill is our go-to restaurant when we're missing home. It's still China, but it's as close to home as we have found in Guilin. Try the Philly Cheese Steak, Bacon Cheeseburger, or Quesadillas. The Greek-American owner, George, is friendly and accommodates any special requests you may have -- he also throws together something special for Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Very nice area of Guilin, located next to a lake. Huge selection of items to choose from...the sushi and raw salmon being my favorites. Ice cold beer served from the keg...help yourself. Tried the fried oysters, loaded with garlic, pretty tasty. They actually had a salad bowl with fresh greens, but no dressings. A guy came by our table slicing pork, which was awesome, and also slicing camel...yes, camel. I should have tried but chickened out. Ice cream was very weak, though I had 2 bowls. Well worth trying. After dinner, take a stroll around the lake. At nightime, it is very beautiful.
