Stopped into Mike's on a Sunday night. Restaurant was half full, but the noise from the sports bar was very loud. I had the Shrimp & Corn soup for starters. It was thick and creamy. I liked it. Unfortunately, I only took two spoons full when my Big Mike's Platter arrived. The platter consisted of Shrimp, catfish, boudin balls and served with your choice of French fries or baked potato. I got the fries. Everything on the platter was good. The shrimp and catfish were lightly battered and fried. They tasted fresh. The fries were shoestring and cooked perfectly. I enjoyed my meal and would go back.

Good variety, excellent tasteWe stopped early for a Saturday dinner, our first visit at this chain and location. We were seated quickly, and our server attended to our table promptly. We ordered a rotisserie sampler plate and a rotisserie chicken plate. On the chicken plate, we had pineapple jalapeno glaze, which had a small pepper finish behind the sweet pineapple. On the sampler, our chicken had the sweet chili glaze, which was sweet but didn't have a pepper "kick." The beef and pork on the sampler plate was tasty, if a bit overdone for my taste. I found the sauces on both meats to be a bit salty. We had the roasted corn grits as one side, which were creamy, rich and flavorful with embedded corn kernels. Thankfully, we didn't read the calorie count on this until after we finished -- the grits are calorie-laden as they are cooked with heavy cream. For our other sides, we had the flavorful Thai snap beans and one of the specialty salads.Overall, we were pleased with our first visit and will return in the future to sample other items.

Found the service great and the burger mediocre. This was my first visit here and I went mainly because of the advertising... "100% Certified Angus Beef® Brand beef... more selective than USDA Prime, Choice and Select". The burger had no particularly great taste and was a bit overcooked. Also, I love hand cut fries and although these were as such, they were cut a bit too small for my taste... I would rather more of a hand cut steak fry. At $11.00 for a cheeseburger with bacon, fries and a water... there are much better choices around here.
