Find out what Grill restaurants to try in Cuenca. Writers and poets have long flourished in arts-oriented Cuenca, the country's third-largest city and the capital of the Azuay province. Cafes and galleries are tucked among the narrow cobblestone streets. The main plaza hosts both the old cathedral, started in 1557, the year the city was founded, and the blue-domed Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, dating to 1885. Locally made Panama hats get top billing at the markets, with centrally located Casa de la Mujer a shopping standout.

Cuenca has plenty of restaurants, but when it come to choose one is the hardest part of us. We'd like something grilled, we suddenly see this place. When we saw their menus outside with no doubts we went inside. There is only one table occupy, so we have the whole place for us (lol). There was a lady inside and no English. Behind the counter you have more choices, all is showing in photos, prices are cheap from $3 to $7.99. Each plate is combine with meat and vegetables very affordable price. Is easy to choose when you are inside because you only have to point the menu combination you want. Our order is a combination with meat and served with fries and rice, but we said no rice. While we're waiting the order I check the walls, unbelievable what I've seen here. Very strange place but on the other hand is nice and unique. People came to dine this place leave something on the wall such as: notes with names or something smaller and memorable stuff like lighters, batteries, spoon, plate even a tie While sitting inside for a while more people coming, they have like promotion everyday, I heard some locals came for promo food of $3. Our meal is served and it looks good for the price of $7.99 we both have the same (mix grill). We got the salad and a basket assorted sauce. We were very satisfied with our meal and the service although they don't speak EnglishTravelling to this area you need to speak basic Spanish, many people in Cuenca don't speak English and especially in this restaurant. Before we left I also would like to leave a note for in the wall, I ask the lady a puncture needle and suddenly a man came to the counter and he's the one who hangs it, he speaks English to us the way he look like and dressed I couldn't avoid to ask him if he's the owner of the place and he said yes. I said to him this really are a unique place and nice and so as the food. Food is worth the price, recommended place for meat lovers

It is located in one of the most beautiful places in Cuenca where you can look the wall of El Vado and the blue silhouettes of the hills of Cuenca. "Los Molinos del Batán" await his visitors with the best cuencan food and the loving atmosphere of a home.
I pass this restaurant on Av 12 de Abril every day. Still, I am not sure what the hours are. Most days/evenings the fence is locked. Other times, it appears to be open for a private party (lots of cars inside a locked fence). However, the website does indicate Sunday lunch, so my husband and I visited, attracted by the scent of outdoor grilling as we approached. We enjoyed a simple lunch of potato soup, grilled meat and rice with french fries and a glass of red wine (they offer no white). Prices seemed moderate, but I don't recall the bill total. The restaurant was occupied primarily by multi-generational families enjoying multi-course meals together served with big pitchers of fruit juice. The building was a water mill (hence the name) and looks like a large, white home in a sizable grassy yard. Some people in my hotel did not even realize that it was a restaurant. I would say that the interior setting, with its thatched roof and two mill stones around which the tables are set is the best part of the visit (except for the TVs showing futbol, but, thankfully, no volume), or possibly ordering the food to sit outside in the yard, overlooking the river. Once seated, there is no view of the water. .Thank you very much for your opinion LK E hope we come back to visit soon, if perhaps you want to recommend the place to any friend can check the schedules on our Facebook fan page.
