Things to do in Potters Bar
I usually always go to Tavernaki in Potters Bar but thought I'd give this new takeaway a try. Well my fellow Greek cuisine lovers - I was not disappointed. The food was fresh well cooked and amazingly tasty. The establishment is impeccably clean and the staff friendly and helpful. The choice of menu is as you would expect with many side dishes to add to your main meal. I ordered 2 chicken kebabs, moussaka, village salad, fries, bourgouri and few dips, this was more than enough for 3 of us and indeed would have served 4 or even 5 hungry people. Highly recommended give it a try you will not be disappointed

Iâve been told how fantastic the food is here, so I decided to give it a try. Itâs a big restaurant, with tables and chairs packed in, if they could they would have people sitting on your lap to make more money. The waiter that showed us to a table was polite and ensured table was clean, even made sure food on floor around us was swept up which is good. However, we were so near to the next table, you are almost touching shoulders. So donât expect any privacy, itâs like a large canteen, not a dining experience and very noisy. You are bought olives, carrot sticks as part of routine set up.We then chose our meal, I was surprised that the chicken kebab is 2 skewers on an empty plate with a bowl of rice or chips. For £13.95 thatâs overpriced. No salad, no garnishing and I would say quite bland. The large Greek salad was small, no feta in it, not seasoned well, dry, maybe had a drop of olive oil if any. You could tell the cheapest and most tasteless salad ingredients used.A glass of wine is around £5. At the end they bring Greek delights, grapes, pineapple and watermelon which is a nice touch.A good point is the toilets were very clean. I havenât been to any restaurant in a while where toilets were so hygienic. So, to summarise, itâs too big, too noisy, overcrowded and overpriced. The food we had was average, the service by the older Greek waiters was very good, the younger staff were not as approachable or friendly. Looking around there were some people that were given huge portions of pasta dishes that are cheaper to make. If I want kebabs Iâll stick to getting a takeaway from Kouzina with a big pitta with salad for less than half the price as opposed to being a sardine in a restaurant.Would I go again? Maybe if invited for an event, or when quieter. When going out for a meal, itâs good to feel itâs a dining experience but this is too much of a conveyer belt experience.

Greek Cypriot food using only the finest ingredients and cooked with passion & love (Meraki).
I am surprised at all the effusive reviews or perhaps I am hard to please. The food was good and the service friendly but I would like to visit again to see what I must have missed. I visited at a quiet time so there was little atmosphere but that does not bother me. What I did not like was the decor/tables/seating which is just functional, dark and not welcoming. The addition of some colour or even good quality white tablecloths would not go amiss.

A charmingly small restaurant in the prestigious area of Hadley Wood with a stylish yet intimate ambiance and high quality, flavourful food.
On its own in a small parade of shops in the middle of Hadley Wood, Barnet. Good quality Greek Cuisine standing out from the standard Greek Restaurant. Prices tend to be medium to high depending on extras.Thank you so much for this fab review. Weâre really glad that you think we stand out from other Greek restaurants and we look forward to welcoming you to Thymari again soon!Warm wishesChristina Argyrou
Where to eat Pub food in Potters Bar: The Best Restaurants and Bars

Returned hoping for a great meal. It was very bad. The microwave was working hard. The meme was same old and boring, shop bought dips warmed up stuffed vine leaves and over cooked meat balls. Same boring, except it was of bad quality, The food was over cooked or barely warmed in the microwave. The salad was a bowl of onions. We had to sit so close to the other diners. All squeezed in little sardines. The service was ok but not the best waiter just dropped plates down rushing us to eat and leave. The drinks even worst unless you drink Keo you have zero choice of anything else. Just lawful this place only cares about profit forgot about the customer. The bill came to over £200 for a rushed frozen over cooked meal in the nosiest restaurant. To me this is place is just an over rated take away. With bad food.
