Situated within walking distance out of the main town by going down the road towards the hospital and beach just past the Bougainvillea Apartments. Traditional Cypriot restaurant established circa 30 years. Very busy when we visited on the first occasion and we just managed to get the last table outside at the front. Ordered a litre carafe of the house wine at â¬9 which came in a very fancy decorative decanter. There was also some complementary toasted herb bread provided which was very nice. Starters of Dolmades at â¬5.00 to share which came with a salad garnish. These were very tasty and set the tone for what was to follow. We also decided to choose mains of Lamb Kleftiko at â¬12.00 and the Chicken Souvlaki at â¬10.00. The lamb Kleftiko came with salad and rice and was succulent cooked perfectly and was extremely enjoyable. The Chicken Souvlaki came with salad and chips and consisted of three skewers with chunky tender pieces of chicken. Nice and succulent chicken which again was enjoyed very much. There are a few cats around the restaurant but don't cause too much trouble and we also we had a small army of tiny ants marching on the side of our table but we were not overly concerned with either as we were sat outside enjoying the experience. It was extremely busy with a few large tables and the owner later apologised for not being able to spend as much time as he would have liked chatting to the guests. Nice touch we thought.Having enjoyed our first visit we decided to go again a few days later. For our second visit, we ordered the usual litre of house wine with the complementary herb bread. Opted for starters to share of mushrooms with fried onions at â¬5.00. These came with a salad garnish and were very tasty. For mains this time we chose the T-bone steak at â¬17.00 and Chicken in carrot sauce â¬14.00. The T-bone steak came with a salad garnish and chips, and was perfection. Portion size just right, steak cooked just as ordered and was a melt in the mouth moment, absolutely gorgeous. The Chicken in carrot sauce came with salad and chips and was very juicy and tasty, sauce accompanying the chicken superbly. Once finished we were presented with complementary fruit medley and two shots of the local Greek sprit which was a real throat burner! A little quieter on our second visit we enjoyed our conversations with the owner and the other very friendly hosts.A very nice dining experience. Doesnât look to be much when walking past during the day as its closed but comes to life on an evening and presents a wonderfully hospitable welcome, warm and friendly staff and just really very good food. If we could find just one very minor suggestion for improvement, the lighting sat outside is quite poor so a little more illumination on the table would be welcome so you can see better whatâs on the plate â other than that itâs a really nice setting, gorgeous home cooked food and very friendly attentive staff, what more could you want.Visited 1st & 4th Sep 2019

Arsinoe Fish Tavern is located in the centre of Polis, just opposite the small church of Agios Nikolaos. For almost 30 years, our family does their very best to make you enjoy an unforgettable evening being our guests! From the beginning, it was our aim t
We read various reviews and thought this restaurant sounded good. Very disappointed with the quality of the fish. All small fish that was deep fried and soggy apart from the swordfish wish was nice. Prawns over cooked, crab in bread crumbs was from frozen pack, calamari was tough and tasteless. When asked how we enjoyed our meal we said we didnât the owner just ignored our comment and asked for the money. Wonât be go back.

The first original and traditional Cypriot Restaurant-Taverna in Polis.Based just off the central square in the town of Polis Chrysochous by the ample Main Car Park. The style of food here can be described as Cypria-European offering exceptional quality l
Had the mezze and it was not great. This place must have about 300 covers hence the canteen feel. The calamari was chewy but the cats liked it. Dear caeh69,We would have thank you for your review but unfortunately we cannot do so.Also, we are not sure whether we should take it into serious consideration...While you were here and being served you could have complain about the food. Unfortunately you haven't done so. But you felt the obligation of doing it online with out even mentioning anything to us. The place has 250 covers but we don't know many places which they will give a table of four covers to a couple so they will be feeling comfortable!Additionally, since you're an expertise on TA you can also do a research on the reviews regarding kalamari and meze and check how many people have the same opinion. All the best.

We were recommended Old Town but some close friends who visited Polis the week before us. We were not disappointed. As soon as we entered we were welcomed in and seated at a little table. The restaurant has a lovely atmosphere which stems from being a family run business. The staff could not do enough for us. After ordering our food we were brought homemade humous and pita bread as well as a vegetable broth amuse-bouche. All the food was beautifully cooked and service was fantastic. All prices include service charge and with such a wonderful experience it doesnât seem £££. We immediately booked again for later in the week. Highly recommend to anyone visiting the area.

It is not hard to find, there is a parking near by and the establishment gives away a kind cypriot vibe. The prices are very good and so is the service!

Our 9th year and first port of call is this excellent taverna. Always a lovely warm welcome from Julie Vas & Jack. 100% reliability for excellent service (with a smile) and excellent food cooked to perfection. Perfect to sit under the vine and relax with a view of the sea. Thank you all so much for making our holiday special. And see you all next you:)
