Reviews on Greek food in Lefkada, Ionian Islands, Greece. Lefkada's name means "white," from the famous white cliffs of Cape Lefkata, site of an ancient temple of Apollo, where rumor has it that the celebrated Lesbian poet Sappho flung herself from the rocks. To stay with the mythology theme, don’t miss a boat tour on the mighty Odysseia, a colorful replica of a Greek war ship. You can also explore deserted monasteries in the mountains, splash around under the Nidri waterfalls and swim at some of Greece's most famous and beautiful beaches.

We spent a week in Vasiliki in September 2019 and ate out every night. This was by far the best experience, with a nice appetizer offered, great food that was a little different from the standard Greek offering and a very professional and friendly service.

Went for dinner one evening only to find that reservations were required. Managed to get a booking for another evening and it was well worth it - delicious food and great staff. Lots of people were queuing hoping for a table - so if you're going to Mikros Gialos, make sure you reserve a table.

In one of the most beautiful villages of the island, Athani, on the road to the beaches of Porto Katsiki, Egremni and Gialos is Taverna Lefkatas. Overlooking the Ionian horizon you can enjoy your morning coffee and taste homemade jams, pies, ouzo, handmad

Perhaps the owners are too busy or tired, but the wonderful atmosphere got lost, we saw lots of yelling and unhappy employees. The Pizzas were undercooked to a fault, and the time we waited was much more than tolerable. They still have good Ice Cream though.

Small, cozy family run restaurant.Serving our homecooked unique adaptations of traditional greek and international recipes. Open for the 2019 season till 20 Octomber
We have been a lot of times to this family run gem of a restaurant (run by the Father chef and front of house Son)The father travels the world looking for that special dish to add to the already extensive menu, all cooked to you liking and all mouth watering full of flavour and all very, very good. During our stay we have tried a wide and varied assortment of dishes from all over the world and each one has not disappointed at all..... Unbelievable atmosphere, complemented by the friendliness and knowledge of each dish by the son and their support staff. To round off every main meal ordered, a complementary glass of wine, red, rose or white is provided. This restaurant is outstanding in Nidri where most eating houses offer the same âtraditionalâ menu, Familia does that and a lot more, all at value for money. We can honestly say you wont be disappointed....... Be warned gets very busy around eight..might see you there as we have a few days left and haven't scratched the surface of the menu yet so much to try....

Itâs a family run business since 1988, itâs the first gyros place in nidri and 1 of the first 5 restaurants generally around in nidri
I've eaten in here once and had the Gyros take away and honestly can't fault it !! The people working there are friendly, the food delicious and perfectly cooked and all at very reasonable prices. So many people seemed to walk past and seemingly be out off because it looks more like a cafe than a restaurant, but trust me the food is better than you'll find in some of the fancier waterfront restaurants charging quite a bit more !! Good honest food which really is "Tasty" will definitely be back !!

Things started well, we just arrived in time for the sun to set below the hills and were greeted enthusiastically by the waiting staff. Sadly, after an enticing treat of two dips and a glass of rose liquor things started to stumble down hill. Our waiter explained that something like 6 to 8 dishes from a relatively short menu were not available but, not to worry, that still left us with several reasonable choices,. Indeed the chickpea and baked feta (with a nice kick) starters were tasty and the moussaka did not disappoint. However, the enormous slice of cheese pie for a main course was tasteless and far too dry - we were told that is how the Greeks like it but to us it was crying out for a garnish or something to add a little extra flavour. The waiter's proud boast that it included 12 layers of filo pastry probably explained why!Maybe our criticism over the pie caused the waiter to leave us far too long before returning to our table (and this when there were only 4 or so other tables occupied - they were hardly "busy") and by this time the cold evening air just made us think we were best to forgo dessert (just a choice of very sweet orange cake or pannacotta) and coffee and leave. So, not quite the dining experience we had hoped for. In my view this place has the capacity to be better overall and if it can get more tables occupied it will have a much better ambiance - at present it comes across as the polar opposite of Rachi, in Exhantia, 10 minutes down the road.

.A family business that has "embraced" the clientele, basing its success to the quality of the food, fast service, cleanliness and friendly behavior.
We sat in this familly restaurant to have a small snack before the dinner. We were welcomed by their homemade appetizers anchovies and bread.we took tzatziki and fried zucchini and aubergines and also potato croquestes and zucchini croquetes and horta. It was really good.at the end we got ouzo.
