Delightful traditional taverna located in the centre of the village. Great place to while away a few hours enjoying a drink of two, socking up the atmosphere of Gavalochori as life in the village passes by, take a snack or move into the larger alfresco restaurant area, which is tucked away to the side, with plenty of tables, positioned under a canopy of grape vines, lovely setting, straight forward menu, good food, although at times you may have to be patient as service can be slow, but if your on holiday does it really matter! Tip - as with many tavernas remember to apply repellant spray, as you sit amongst the vegetation, which can attract mozzies, although they do place mozzies smoke boxes around the dining area, but don't be deterred it's a nice place, young team of staff who are polite, courteous and attentive and the food is delicious!

Weâve stayed in Gavalochori twice and both times had the most wonderful welcome and delicious food here. The setting is perfect and everyone is so friendly, welcoming and helpful. The food is authentic, freshly made and delicious, especially the stuffed courgette flowers. ÎµÏ ÏαÏιÏÏÏ for remembering us and for giving us such a wonderful welcome! We will see you again.

We invite you to enjoy in a perfect place your lunch, coffee or drink. Comfortable and friendly environment. We have parking and a playground for our little friends.
Everyting was terrible at this place under the vines, from the stale bread to the wine which tasted off but turned out was probably from a carton, although it was not cheap. All the food was a big letdown and both looked and tasted like cheap supermarket frozen food that was badly reheated. The starters were greasy and what was supposed to be garlic dip was actually mashed potato. How that was supposed to be a dip with bread stretches understanding. We had our glasses of wine changed but it turned out that the second glasses were not much better. We weren't going to complain a second time but the waitress whipped them away again and then sulked every time she came to serve us with the exception of one time when she seemed to make a joke about us to the waiter, which caused her to smirk.Main courses were accompanied by grey looking frozen mixed veg (carrots, peas and sweet corn) rice and undercooked frozen chips. "Ribs" turned out to be a plate of vastly over salted gristle, so my son actually had to cook himself another meal when we got home. Even the "free" dessert was a weird concoction of lemons which was inedible. In the middle of the night I was awoken by bad stomach pains. We have psssed the details of this restaurant on to both our landlord and our holiday company to hopefully stop other people being ripped off.Oh and while we were there a small child had a nasty accident when her wobbly chair tipped over. Not that the staff were concerned. All in all the worst meal we had on holiday.
