I have been going to Charlie's for some years now and find the food to be excellent and of consistent quality, throughout the years. There is a friendly family atmosphere, and plenty of options to select from. This restaurant is frequented by many in the neighborhood and I would suggest it to others that live in other parts of Maryland, or even Virginia or D.C. You will not regret the travel.

My wife and I had time to kill between appointments and agreed on Mediterranean. My wife had the watermelon salad special, while I had the Gyro salad-- both were quite good, and my dressing was every bit as spicy as advertised, quite good. We also shaed the stuff meshroom starter, which was stuffed with crab and very well done. A sparking water, starter and two mains was $54, about par for Old Town (it was late enough in the afternoon for dinner). Shelby was a marvvoulus server as well. However, the stereo had some fading issues, where the music somewhat pulsed in volume-- I thought at first it was the music but each song seemed to do that. Also, either one of the songs had a phone track or the phone rings over the stereo, which was less than pleasant. Overal, a very nice place, go for the food!

Had mousaka for carry-out. Cones with small side salad and garlic bread for $17. Marinara sauce came on the side. It was okay. Bechamel sauce was not as creamy as I have had in other restaurants and the mousses just was not as tasty. My daughter, who usually eats everything, only ate half of hers. The slice of mousaka was not large, but after tasting it, it didnât matter.
