Reviews on Greek food in Chania Town, Crete, Greece. Much of the old town district of Chania was developed around its harbor, which was built by the Venetians during the 14th century. Its lighthouse still proudly overlooks the Mediterranean. Here you’ll find several cinemas and historical attractions like the Archaeological Museum, a collection of Minoan and Roman artifacts that’s housed in the former Monastery of Saint Francis. Word nerds will especially enjoy the Museum of Typography.

Our aim is to provide simple, tasty food at affordable prices in a relaxed atmosphere. Our restaurant opens mid April till end of October.
Since the restaurant has received good recommendations here at trip advisor, we had to visit it now we live nearby. However it was somekind of a dissapointment. The food was ok but not nearly as good as expected given the recommendations. We had Four different dishes and it was filing, but nothing special. The staff were friendly but more interested in putting on headphones and watching videos on the internet. What did you have? 4 dishes is not really helpful! What do you conciser special? A unicorn stake maybe? The "staff" with the headphones watching videos on the internet was the owner who had a day off and what I do on my day off is none of your business. My job is NOT to keep you company or entertain you mate. Go get some friends... Lefty.

really excited to be visiting this restaurant and turned out to be the biggest disappointment of the holiday. Table booked for 8 pm, waitress welcomed us nice table, chose our meals and the choice of wine is red or white by the carafe, starters came together with the wine, starters very good, then we waited and waited, after 1 1/2 we gave up waiting for our main course, just as we were leaving one of the meals came out of the kitchen, no sign of the slow cooked pork, so so disappointed, no explanation given for delayThank you, rewecourt !!We are really sorry about what happened, there is no excuse but bad time handling from kitchen and service! We will make sure that will never happen again!

Slow food vegetarian family run restaurant ! Offers a variety of local traditional vegetarian cuisine like âBourekiâ or stuffed leaves with rice and aromatic herbs, vegan âMoussakaâ (bechamel with almond milk) and many other dishes. Depending on the seaso
A really authentic Greek, family run restaurant with amazing food. The staff couldnât be more friendly and welcoming, it felt as though they genuinely just want to share their familyâs wholesome and delicious food with you. The menu is really inclusive (loads of veggie, vegan and GF options - meat eaters didnât even miss meat). Donât miss this if youâre visiting Crete.

BEHIND THE TOWN HALL 100 METERS FROM THE BUS STATION Traditional Cretan and Mediterranean food
We found this hidden gem through Trip Advisor. A small restaurant of the beaten path. Didnt look incredible, a small old looking tavern. For a a moment the friendly couple with us considered not entering.Thank god we actually did. From the beginning the staff was friendly, you could see this is a family restaurant. The menu was quite big with a lot of options mainly in cooked food but also with roasted meats. We ordered 4 main dishes and 2 starters. Everything was original, full of taste and in big portions. We all agreed that it made is think that our yiayia(grandma in Greek) had just cooked her best food for us. Every bite exploded in my mouth with taste and family memories. To top the excellent food, the cook who is the father of the family came to our table and had a beautiful conversation with us with the company of Cretan raki! What can i say, one of the best meals we had in Chania and only thing that made me sad is the fact that the place wasnt busy when we visitied. It should be packed full with customers!!

Decided to try out the Greek salad after a couple of days in Greece, I tried the Crete salad a couple of times which has been amazing each time with a slight variation on the recipe. But I didnât expect such a treat, the salad was filling, amazingly tasty and had twist to the olives I havenât seen anywhere else. The tzadziki side and the favs bean paste I had ordered as âsidesâ were almost complete meals in themselves.I left very satisfied not just with the food but also with the pleasant and generous welcome to the restaurant by the owner.Highly recommend it, will return for more.

I booked the Theodosi for my Partners Birthday evening as we spent a week in Crete. The food was exceptional, and the staff very friendly to. The portions were surprising, as we ordered a starter which when it was delivered to us looked more the size of a main course, the tatses though were so good we just couldn't not eat it.Thoroughly recommend a visit for a great evening out.Happy birthday once again! It was a pleasure hosting your birthday event! I am pleased you loved the food and the staff took good care of you during your stay. See you again on your next dinner out in Chania town!

Lively Bar club in the center of Chania, Rock and contemporary music, fine quality drinks and cocktails in a unique historical building.
After meals in very nice tavernas we looked for a more upscale experience and found it at Mon.Es. Located in a gorgeously renovated Venetian building, the restaurant offers a lovely atmosphere, views of the adjacent pool, and views of subterranean archeological discoveries. Service was excellent, the food tasty and beautifully presented. Highly recommended. Especially lamb shank.

Very nice restaurant and amazingly tasty and well presented food. It is very well priced for what you get amazing value for money as you can see from the pictures a giant pork steak with beautiful fried potatoes and veg was only â¬12.20 you won't get such high quality of food For that price I mean in England a meal with this quality and quantity would cost about £25-30. The staff are all very nice, polite and attentive.Amazing place.

Palazzo almare restaurant is the place where you can experience the tasteful beauty of Greece. Althought we don't try to serve just food, we try to create memories for you and your company!
A nice and buzzing restaurant overlooking the water. The building is a beautiful townhouse converted to provide dining on all floors and lots of tables outside at ground floor. It is definitely worth booking in advance and requesting one of the tables on the first floor balcony which is private and overlooks the water, it makes a special occasion. Otherwise the roof provides a great outside dining experience.Overall the food was good and priced about right.

In 1994, in the area of Platanias, Chania "Giaourtoplimmira" has opened, a small shop with a big abition: to be your first gastronomic choice regarding souvlaki, fast food and any other taste you would like to experience. With a lot of work and even more
Returned to Crete this year and straight to Giaourtoplimmira for our first meal. Same excellent food and service. Children insisting on enjoying their meals here throughout their holiday. Highly recommended.
