Having stayed in Schloss Stecklenberg, a few miles away (with no dining nearby), we were forced to drive into the nearby town of Thale to find our dinner, found Athos and liked it. Both the choices, the food, the friendly service, and parking were good. We two came from Chicago, the home of many Greeks and many first-rate Greek restaurants.Parking was easy, restaurant was large, menu was very large with many of our Greek favorites, prices were normal and staff was friendly and well-known to its local customers. We both enjoyed our dinners and the service. So, this was a big, popular restaurant where, really, we found that only two in Thale exist. A good choice!.

Qburg is a small town and this is a fine greek restaurant but not out of the ordinary. I had a mixed kebab of tasty pork and lamb. It also came with lots of fries, which I did not need. My wife had the salad which had lots of feta, tomato and cucumber but no greens. It's across from a park on a side street so outside eating was quiet.

We were warmly greeted by our waiter who assured us they easily cater for Coeliac gluten free dietary requirements. After presenting us with an english menu the waiter brought us complimentary little shot glasses of Greek wine along with our ordered drinks. The lamb skewers and souvlaki main courses were delicious and quite generous portions. Following the meal more Greek fortified wine and honey & yoghurt desert were supplied complimentary. What a lovely meal we had and very pleased with our choice of restaraunt that night.

Two Greek restaurants face each other on the main street near the hotel Zur Goldenen Sonne. We canât compare them since we tried only one, but we can certainly recommend Artemis. It is quite popular and had many customers already seated when we arrived about 7.30. The interior of the restaurant is interesting, with nooks and cranies all filled with happy customers. Our waiter spoke German without grammar, just like us, so we could communicate easily. We started with a saganaki, which was quite different from what we are accustomed to in the U.S. It was covered with onion strips and there was no sizzling sauce of olive oil and lemon juice. But it was good fried cheese nevertheless. One main course was a whole fried trout, a generous portion and delicious. The other was the pastizio, also a generous portion but perhaps a little heavy on the pasta and light on the meat. A Kokitelli red wine went well.
