An excellent restaurant and worth seeking out (not in the best part of Koblenz). Genuine, tasty Greek food in stylish surroundings, good service and complementary Ouzo and Cherry liqueur.

Nach fast eineinhalb Jahren waren wir wieder in der Taverne Athen zu Gast. Und wieder fühlten wir uns gut aufgehoben. Die Preise sind nach wie vor moderat, die Portionen recht groÃ. Vor und nach dem Essen erhielten wir einen Ouzo. Die bestellten Weine wurden im 0,25l Krug serviert; aber zusätzlich war das Glas schon zu einem Drittel gefüllt. Auch eine Supergeste. Die Essen waren sehr gut; lediglich die Leber war vielleicht etwas zu lange auf dem Grill. Insgesamt waren wir jedenfalls erneut zufrieden. Für uns ein kleiner Wermutstropfen - es ist leider keine Kartenzahlung möglich und das Lokal ist nur abends geöffnet.

We arrived in Lahnstein in the afternoon, and took a little walk and spotted this place, it looked beautiful so we reserved a table for that evening. The food and service were excellent, and the decor original, and just beautiful. We enjoyed it so much, we booked again for Saturday, and again it was excellent, friendly service, and really good food. We were only for 3 days in Lahnstein, but we will certainly come back, and eat here again.

Look and feel like an expensive Greek restaurant, but the food was to my taste like some cheap fastfood. I was not happy to pay a regular restaurant price for such quality. Service was very friendly, but typically proud and too much dignity somehow...
