Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Aigialeia, of which it is the seat and a municipal unit. The municipal unit has an area of 151.101 km. Its population is around 26,000. Aigio is a port town on the Gulf of Corinth.

We visited this place while being tired after a road trip. Food is served really fast, the quality is excellent and the tastes amazing! Prices are very reasonable for the portions and the food that is served (greek salad 5â¬, lamb dish with potatoes 7,5⬠and traditional gemista for 6â¬).The only thing that may be a little bit annoying is that if you arrive late (around 4o clock) you may not find all the available dishes as they tend to finish early! The view is great (at the sea) and is a perfect spot for a beer and a short relax! Last but not least, the waiter is very very kind!Definately suggested!

We had dinner today because we read the good reviews on Tripadvisor. Turned out we also visited this restaurant two days ago, but we didnât recognise it because of the complicated greek alphabet (for us, that is...). So we had two visits, and we enjoyed the good food. We ordered from the Greek menu, and had lovely dishes to share. We particularly liked the chicken with pepper, in a nice sauce. We had red housewine, which was very tasteful and friendly priced, with a half liter costing three euros. In total we had to pay 35 euros for three people, which we consider very well spent. if you pass from outside , you may just ignore it. Big mistake. Its by far the best restaurant in the area. The couple that run it have invested all their heart and spirit to it. The tables are hand painted and lacquered, two huge chandeliers with real bee wax candles light the place. No electricity. As for the food ? excellent. Local specialties made from fresh local veg and meat. On of the best restaurants i have ever visited. as for the prices, when the bill arrived i thought there was a mistake, that they had forgotten half the order. that cheap.

I found this restaurant when walking along the coast of Aigio, and it was a really nice experience in terms of food and service. We had fresh and well-cooked fish, typical Greek food, complementary appetizers and desert, and the guys serving our table welcomed us with smile and politeness. The price was good, compared with the good quality of the food. I would definitely recommend it!Thank you for your review.. Its our pleasure to satisfy your taste and your expectations..

Great restaurant with a cozy, homelike atmosphere. All of the food is wonderful but the chicken bifteki is the best! The owner, Christos, is always a friendly, engaging host with an amazing personality! Do yourself a favor and pay him a visit, you won't regret it!!!

This restaurant was a great surprise for us. Looking after restaurants in the village of Aigios we did not find any which we really could define as one, then we found this place and we really ended in paradise. The food was absolutely great, the personal very kind and the prices are really low for the quality you get. I recommend this place with all my heart.

Aigion Pelagos is a beautiful coastal restaurant with excellent food and service to match. Slightly off the beaten track, this is a great spot for simple yet excellent food with all the traditional flavours expected from a classic Greek menu. The backdrop of the crashing waves added for extra drama as we enjoyed grilled sardines and courgette fritters. Highly recommend for tourists looking for a great spot to eat near Aigion.
