This restaurant is located in the old railwaystation building in Worpswede, designed by one of the original Worpswede artists, Heinrich Vogeler. It's a wonderful building, and inside they have more or less kept the original room plan, with first, second and third class areas. Even the environment was very interesting, the food was quite average, and the service was a bit too slow for my taste. So go there and enjoy the athmosphere, but don't have too high dining expectations !

We were 3 persons dining here and we were very satisfied. the service was excellent, the athmosphere was good, and the food and wine was way above average. Nice and quiet, too - so a nice place for a small party for dining and talking.

On a stormy day in August we did visit Hammerhute about lunchtime. Though there were more people, we found a table. Service was friendly, food was not very culinair but still good. The place is a lovely place, you can look along the water and over the fields. I think location is more important than the food in this case, must be great on a sunny day.
