Things to do in Weiden
Danke! Sehr gut war's!

After having dinner at the Italian restaurant opposite this place, me and my German colleague decided to have some chai on the go. The chai latte was really nice, I just hoped that it came with a smile from the owner/manager. I was trying to figure out if he was pissed off with the first customers that came in ahead of us, or with us. In any case, it doesn't look nice to give a grumpy face to customers.

We had supper at this restaurant and enjoyed it very much. They had some interesting soups, my husband's mushroom soup was wonderful, and I tried something different, asparagus soup, but not creamed, more of a broth. Our main courses were very good too. Service took a little time, but not when you consider that there was one woman doing it all, she sure could work. In the pedestrian zone of the city, so it's easy to find.

This is one of the oldest restaurants in Weiden and have kept a good quality/price balance over decades. There is nothing fanciful about it but the service is quite all right, the portions are more than enough, the quality very good and the price quite attractive. In summer when you can sit outside it is quite convenient, no fanciful panorama or romantic ambient but anyway it is nice and convenient. Excellent for a cosy meeting with friends
Our family of four had a lovely lunch here today. Service was fast and friendly and the food excellent. We tried spring rolls as starter and then Pho (Vietnamese noodle soup), red Thai tofu curry and red Thai prawn curry as well as mixed Thai chicken curry. Portions were generous, tasty and very good value. We will come back. Expect to pay about 10 Euro for a dish incl. drink.

Went with family stationed nearby and had a very good time. Great atmosphere, delicious food and first-rate beer. There were four adult and three pretty small children so the small room they gave us was perfect--just separated enough from other diners. The schnitzel, as you would expect, was large and very tasty. Enough for take-home to continue to enjoy the next day. The kid's curry wursts were much enjoyed. The art work is pretty amazing.

In August a friend and I were eagerly hopeful that we might be able to experience the culinary ambience of Italy in our city of Weiden. We had just returned from a two-week stay in that country, a location dear to our hearts. We scanned the local papers/magazines, and we stumbled across a review of this place. Within two days we were seated there and enjoying what surely must be one of the best pizzas north of the Alps. How lucky we were, for now, instead of having to train or fly south for a pizza, we can simply drive across the city for a nice taste of Italy imagining that we were still in Italy on a breezy summer's day!

A recommendation for steak and wine lover. Very delicious and well served steak. International Wine selection is good. The serving personal is very friendly and always anxious to help you for the right selection. Space availability is limited, reservation for bigger groups is helpful. Thumb up!

OK ⦠so I goofed up and ordered something that I didn't expect -- thinking my translation meant "fish soup" and what I got was more like a form of very fishy ceviche with cream and onions. Dee. Lish. Us. My mistranslated appetizer turned out to be a Bavarian dish I'd never heard of, but will definitely order again. But if all you want is a plateful of Nurnberg rostbratwurst and rotkohl, or schnitzel, or medallions of pork in a mushroom sauce ⦠along with fresh draft pils and dunkel beers -- Brauwirt is your place.
