have been there now twice with 8-10 people. grown ups and toddlers. enough space for a chariot, friendly staff with big patience for kids. food good, value good, great view. sitting there inside or on deck and watch the beach and the waves. perfect stop during an afternoon walk, or having breakfast or dinner with family and friends. the variety of home made cakes is not very big but what you get is tasty. anytime again

Guess the island has not learned about service yet. After reading in a magazine that this is Sansibars sister we decided to give it a try although the menu doesn't look to spectacular. Even got a booking on a Friday night outside. Upon arrival the service greeted us in a very rude way. When we said we'd like to have a look they said we have to ask for permission. When we said we have a booking outside they said they would give us a nice table inside. So we decided to go and leave our money at Sansibar which has better service and food for the same price. While leaving the manager gave us a rude comment.

Friendly, attentive (and funny) waitress - nice and relaxing atmosphere, we spent a great evening with our friends! The menu is not to big but noone had problems to find the perfect food-match.Personally I loved the tempura tuna roll as a starter which I shared with a friend. The wine menu shows - it does not always have to cost an arm and a leg, great wine and not expensive (considering the sylt-factor:-))Book a table in advance and try the daily special!

The interior is farm style homey and inviting. Not to comfortable though. The food was a bit of a disappointment. The white fish overcooked and stringy rather than flakey. The samphire, popular in Britain, was salty bitter and a good combination with raspberry. Celeriac puree was ok but not velvety. The open wine, a Sangiovese was just ok. Decor over food. Not bad overall but won't return.

We went there to enjoy the traditional "Friesentorte" and we loved it. This little café is rather traditional with a colourful enterior. All the cakes looked amazing. We tried 3 different ones and they were to die for.The coffee is good as well.Other guests had lunch there which looked tasty too.

It was our third visit in the Old Friesenstube in the last two years and again we had an excellent dinner in the heartful atmosphere of one of the oldest restaurants in Westerland. Try the "Friesisch Fischpfanne", it's delicious! And don't miss the wine list with many of Germany's best Rieslings.

When in Sankt-Peter-Ording, we had an excellent dinner in a restaurant called Seekiste. So, when we found one with the same name in Westerland, we did not hesitate a minute (even if we were quite sure they were unrelated). The dining room is small with tiled walls and a cosy atmosphere. Staff is helpful and friendly. We went for a full fish dinner with mussels and scallops as starters followed by Busumer-style plaice and fish and shellfish stew as main courses. It was excellent and so fulfilling that we skipped the dessert!

Following a recent recommendation, again by my hotel, I went to this place. Please nite that parking is limited. While waiting staff were friendly throughout, the food was only average, at best. The restaurant offers two dinner sittings: 6 and 8 pm. For starters I had chanterelles (very bland) and rösti, which was ok. For mains I ordered trout with sage sauce, potatoes dauphoinse and a salad. If you like bland food- look no further. Unfortunately, to me it's just an average eatery. I will not be back.
