We were in Straubing today and my partner, who is a picky eater, wanted something to eat. Petershof came up in our online search and it basically hit our trifecta of a great place to eat: the food was really good, the staff was friendly, and the prices were good, too.We had a "Schwabenteller," a massive plate of cheese spätzle and grilled pork tenderloin in a mushroom cream sauce, topped with crunchy fried onions. Everything tasted homemade. They appeared to have all sorts of unique schnitzels, including an Obatzda-filled schnitzel, too. The price for the schnitzel appeared to be really good, too: they started at around 4-6 euros, including a side of some form of potato or another - we'll definitely be back to try the schnitzel. Beer was generally around â¬3 for half a liter of Arcobräu, but they had some seasonal specialties like a hefeweizen bock with 7% alcohol for â¬3.50.Staff was also super friendly but not in your face - they were expedient and noticed when drink glasses were starting to be empty. The other guests were really friendly, too. It seemed like there were lots of regulars. While we were there (a Sunday afternoon), the Straubing-Nuremberg hockey game was on, and then there was a Bundesliga game being projected onto a screen. The interior isn't the newest and trendiest, but it was clean enough. We'll definitely be back the next time we're in the area.

Took my mother-in-law here for lunch and was just about to get up and leave as no one had approached our table after 20 minutes sitting there ( beer garden). Once served, the food and drink arrived quickly, in fact too quickly. My grilled Turkey steaks were tasteless and shared a plate with a limp salad. My mother-in-law had milzwurst (a type of deep fried sliced sausage) which looked greasy but she found it ok. The waitress was unfriendly and failed to make eye contact which made communication difficult.Although I lived in Straubing 15 years ago, I was never in this restaurant because my husband would not go in. I always wanted to try it because the beer garden is always busy in the summertime. Now that I have, I won't be back.

Located on the beautiful Theresienplatz, Straubing's picturesque city square, Seethaler is an institution serving delicious food to locals and tourists alike. The restaurant interior is typical Bavarian style, making for an inviting ambiance. English speaking staff accommodates questions of foreigners with a smile, as they peruse the extensive menu of Bavarian specialties and international main courses. Prices are reasonable, portions are ample in size, and the food is excellent. One can not go wrong choosing the Restaurant Seethaler when in Straubing.

We enjoyed our meal at this nice German restaurant. My husband had one of his standard dinners, but I wasn't that hungry and decided to go with some appetizers that were typical things I wanted to try while in Germany. I had asparagus soup, 2 sausages and a big pretzel. (picture) The server got a bit confused by that, but I enjoyed trying them. Our server was very good, helpful, and he was dressed in the traditional lederhosen. The restaurant was nicely decorated. All in all a very pleasant evening.

Good food and a great setting in the City Center. Like something you would find on Melrose Ave in West Hollywood. Thank you very much!!

We came across this restaurant by chance one Thursday lunchtime and are so glad we did. It was absolutely heaving with several groups of people as well as couples and families. The Quick Bites selection was very good and tasty. Food came quickly despite the lunchtime rush and each dish was only around 5â¬. We had gnocchi and gazpacho, both of which were excellent. They also do more substantial meals and delicious-looking cakes. One thing to note: they source their coffee locally, from Heinrichs in Hengersberg, and excellent coffee roaster which produces some excellent stuff. It is easy to miss if you do not know the area and it is probably best to book in the colder months as the seating inside is limited.Try it!

"Das Wirtshaus mitten im Herzen von Straubing mit groÃer Terrasse auf dem historischen Stadtplatz und langer Tradition serviert bayerische Klassiker." Durchgehend warme Küche Montag bis Samstag 11:00 bis 21:30 Uhr und Sonntags von 11:00 bis 14:00 Uhr.
The expected Bavarian menu is complemented with good local brews. Table sharing encourages you to talk to the locals on the very nice Theresienplatz. Good service, good meals.

Spotlessly clean hotel/restaurant which caters for large and small functions. The proximity to the local cemetry means that it is particulary handy for funeral catering. The decor is a well balanced mix of modern and traditional and the layout provides opportunity for intimate as well as social dining. A long well stocked bar with lots of comfortable bar stools provides an ideal setting for those preferring to have a drink.Staff were friendly and efficient and food served was of good quality. The meat is sourced from the owners butchers which is why meat features prominently on the menu.Located near the train station and alternative transport links, means that the restaurant is easily accesable plus a walk to the centre of town is possible. My friend and I had a lovely lunch here and I would not hesitate in recommending this restaurant to others.

This is a really cool place to eat, very cosy inside in winter and an excellent outside area in summer. Very friendly staff and very good Bavarian fayre available. Their burgers are really good too.
