We made a stop in Brienz for a lunch, and this restaurant attracted us by its location on the very edge of the lake. The view was fantastic! This place also provides free parking, which is a rare chance in Switzerland. It is a family-run place, which also a part of a hotel. The staff is friendly and helping, payment per cash and card is possible, although at first, we had some confusion about how the meal should be paid for. Looks like with some cards they have to split the sum into half, and others - do not.They mostly serve local beef, but also have a big choice of desserts, such as cakes and pies. I was happy with the size and taste of my "homemade hamburger". They introduced the dessert menu, but we just had no any space for it, so we bought a pack of cookies, advertised there.

We stayed here overnight for its close proximity to the Ballenberg Museum. The rooms of the hotel are basic and could use some renovation. They are maybe not the cleanest. The kitchen however is superbe! The menu has only a handful of meals which I like a lot and our group of six tried various dishes which were all prepared to the highest standards. The shortcomings of the hotel's rooms are surely compensated by the kitchen!

Very happy to have eaten at this amazing restaurant. It is located on the top of the mountain, close to the swiss village Giswil. The food is tipical, raclette, fondue, deer meat, etc and it's delicious. Me and my boyfriend were lucky enough to even assist at the cheese making which was very interesting. The staff is very nice and there is one girl speaking good English who translated the menu for us. The road to go up there is already an experience cause you can see the Alps, the lake , the green fields with tipical houses and once there the view is breathtaking. Highly advised for a real, almost surreal, swiss experience! :)

With our group we had dinner in Planalp Berggasthaus and resided in the hostel nearby. As there is no electricity it is amazing how things work. You will enjoy the reduction, the calm you enter and friendliness of people up here in Planalp. If you want want to experience a different world, this is the place to go.

Heute besuchten wir mit einer Gruppe Menschen mit Beeinträchtigung das Selbstbedienungsrestaurant gleich neben der Bergstation der Gondelbahn Rossweid.Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich, das Essen weit besser als in aderen vergleichbaren Restaurants in den Bergen. Wir fühlten uns sehr willkommen was nicht immer selbstverständlich ist, wenn wir mit einer Gruppe verschiedenster Menschen und unseren Sonderwünsche auftauchen. Herzlichen Dank!

Nach einer langen Wanderung kamen wir im "Schwand" an, das Hotel und Restaurant zugleich ist. Wir waren hungrig und vor allem durstig. Eine sehr nette Bedienung nahm unsere Wünsche entgegen und fragte, ob sie unserem Hund auch Wasser geben dürfe. Das war wirklich sehr aufmerksam. Der Kuchen war gut, der Kaffee schmeckte und wir kamen noch ein wenig mit der Bedienung ins Gespräch. Es war alles perfekt.2 Tage später hatten wir ine andere Bedienung, die leider die Freundlichkeit irgendwo verloren hatte und recht lustlos wirkte. Eigentlich sehr schade, weil jedes Personal ist auch eine Art "VIsitenkarte". Statt 5 Punkte also nur 4.Witzigerweise gibt es da oben auch 2 Strandkörbe. See-feeling in den Alpen. Auch die ganze Umgebung ist einfach schön.
