Had a nice dinner with children, a convenient play area made us enjoy the dinner. Food is good and service is a little cold but professional. Certainly way too expensive, for example 24.- Swiss francs for a veggie dish, an egg and a few pieces of vegetables... Located in the town of Sedrun, ambiance is very typical and indeed marvelous.

The locals will insist on you trying the chicken in a basket here - its the specialty of the restaurant. But you must also have a snaps coffee after your meal. They make them at the table for you and it is a nice little show. Good food and a very pleasant atmosphere.

With the new Restaurant Management the food has got some Swedish touch and is better than before. Unfortunately most of the service personal does not speak german and the overall service experience has a lot of room for improvement. You wait very long until you can place your order, it takes ages until you get the food and if you are lucky you get what you ordered. The staff is new and still very uncoordinated, but the restaurant manager does everything to make the best of the situation.

This is a relatively new place in the majestic Benedictin monastry in Disentis with an attached hall for larger events. The food is simple with a daily varying menu or just a rich soup with sausage and a daily sweet for desert. On sunny days there is a terrasse right in below the white walls of the monastery facing South, overlooking the village and a nice view to the Medelser mountains and glacier. The service is smooth, very friendly and backed up by a very modern kitchen and is just perfect in the place. Bread is baked in the monastery's own bakery. Wine comes from the monastery's own vineyard in the Valtelina. It is almost a must after visiting the monastery, or just to relax and enjoy a peacful moment.
