At Gulasch & Soehne, we are passionate about temptation. Let yourself be tempted by one of our small snacks in a grand setting. Let yourself be seduced by Vienna's oh-so-sinful yet delectable, classic "fast food": sausages served with goulash broth, Debre
This tiny restaurant is worth making a reservation. The main dishes are hearty goulash stews that you can get small and large portions. Small menu but outstanding food and service. You arenât rushed to leave ( like in so many American restaurants) and you can smell the wonderful food the second you walk in the door. Itâs part of the Grand Ferdinand hotel but youâd never know it. Bread is great, house red wine very nice, they also have Pierre Jouet champagne. My husband is Hungarian and this goulash rivals what he makes. With Hungary so close its natural to have some good Hungarian restaurants,Good day, thank you so much for your time and the kind feedback about our restaurant "Gulasch & Söhne" which is much appreciate. We are happy to meet your expectations and that you enjoyed the typical viennese dishes in our restaurant. We hope that we can welcome you again at a future date. Stopped here at 11pm as nothing else was open. Surprised to see 4 policemen and warily entered as we thought something was wrong...imagine our relief to find they were purchasing their late night snack! We all had a slice of Leberkas in bread roll washed down with a beer. It wasn't something I would rave about but it was a quick and very cheap snack. I didn't try horse meat nor the chilli cheese but they seemed quite popular. I am glad we tried Leberkas-Pepi.Thank you for your visit! Maybe next time you want to try horse or chili to convince yourself of the taste :-)

Enjoy traditional Viennese specialities in this elegant and stylish restaurant. You can either sit in the black and white floor-tiled glass conservatory facing the Opera House or in the grand, dark red damask dining room with large oil paintings and cryst
The meal started off really promising, with a good chanterelle cream soup and a foie gras tart. However the crescendo promised fell flat quickly at the main course. We had the tafelspitz and beef roulade. Both were dry despite the copious amounts of sauce we tried to ladle on it, and frankly rather tasteless. The sacher torte is also overrated. Our most disappointing meal in Vienna. Dear reviewer "515bluec", thank you very much for taking your time to share your recent experience at Rote Bar with us. We are very concerned to read that your visit did not meet your expectations and we would like to take this opportunity to apologize for any inconvenience caused. We do very much appreciate our guests feedback as it allows us to constantly improve our services and to offer our guests the best experience possible.Once again our deepest apologies. We very much hope that you will give us another chance to convince you of the usual pleasant and delicious Sacher experience. Kind regardsReiner HeilmannGeneral Manager

This very popular restaurant is opposite the main entrance to the vast Zentralfriedhof (City Cemetery) and consequently provides a perfect rest from graveyard searching. We ate here following 3 hours of locating buried relatives in the autumnal air of the tree-covered cemetery and were more than ready for our lunch. It is advisable to book a table as they do get extremely busy especially around religious holidays. The welcome is warm if brisk. There is an extensive menu although too many of the dishes are covered in breadcrumbs so beware if you do not want this type of finish. I chose broccoli in beer batter with tartare sauce and green salad. I enjoyed this new approach to broccoli. The portions are very generous. The décor is wooden floors and café style with high ceilings which does not lend itself to intimate conversation. The service was swift and friendly and the bill easy on the wallet.

We found this little cafe after somewhere else we tried was full. There were lots of locals in the cafe which is usually a good sign, and the breakfast we had was excellent. The eggs Which came served in a glass with hollandaise sauce was the absolute highlight - the sauce was something special!

Even though we had booked a table we still had to wait 20 minutes to be seated and then a further 25 minutes to order drinks and then a wait to order our meal. Therefore expect to be some time. The staff were pleasant but verty rushed. Either someone was sick or they do not employ enough people. My schnitzel was enormous however.
