Ausflugslokal
We ate here 3 days running and weâre obviously very satisfied. Although not easy to get a table for 5 at lunchtime because of its popularity we persevered. Food and beer went down very well in a pleasant atmosphere. Would definitely recommend

We chose the place guided by other reviews and were not disappointed. Really tasty German dishes served with patience and a smile, a rich menu and very good beers. A warm, cozy place in a delightful small German village. The price/quality balance is more than favourable. Probably the best place I tried during my stay in Assia

I've been going there for the past 15 years, usually for meeting friends. The service is good, we don't have to wait to have our order taken and the beer arrives fairly quickly. The food itself is standard fare, there is nothing really fancy on the menu. But whatever I've had so far was good. Some of my friends really like the Pizza Salmone, another friend said he had the best pizza ever there. I like the atmosphere especially. It's great for get-togethers, and you often hear English spoken there by patrons (with the international school nearby).

My friend's office was having their annual Christmas Party at Zum Lahmen Esel and he let me tag along. Our group was seated in a small room just inside the door. We had two servers dedicated to us and they were constantly in and out doing their best to keep up with us. They were very helpful when it was discovered that we had more people than space and moved things around to get everyone to fit. I tried the Scheurebe wine which was very smooth and sweet like I like it. My goulash with spaetzle and salad was also very good. The meat was tender and the spaetzle was cooked well. The sauce was a bit stouter than I like but accompanied the meat well. I got the chance to try my friend's schnitzel parmesan which while a bit thick had this amazing cheesy tomato sauce on it. Overall it was a good meal.

Met there on a Wednesday night after a medical check up with my husband and parents - no reservation. As we were early enough (6pm or so) there still was a stable available - later all tables were engaged and people had to be turned away. The welcome was very warm, one gentleman in service attending to drinks and serving food and receiving payment. We were made feel like frequent guests, good advice, very careful preparation to order. Absolutely perfect, not too much but always there when needed despite "full house".We all had the delicious Cruszovice (or similar) Czec darker ale and two of us chose starters: the Czec style tartar was absoluteley fresh, beautifully decorated, came with all the condiments on the side to prepare yourself in the plate and is big enough to be a main for a lady. Cesar salad lacked anchovies but was otherwise ample and fresh and had a great dressing.Top of the pops: the beef fillet. I ordered Argentinian with chanterelle mushrooms" medium to rare. I got a fillet about 350-400gr grilled to perfection, medium rare, with foiled potato with cream and despite mouth watering experience could not cope with it. Not a gram of fat or anything you had to cut off, almost fell apart just using the fork, MARVELLOUS. My folks had veal liver of equal quality, 4 slices! Cordon bleue delicious and a Rumpsteak that was absolutely perfect, too. And believe me, my Mum and I am a bit tricky when it comes to meat. I usually don't eat it in Germany as I am spoiled from Argentina and Brazil, but here it is a must have. So all in: great service, even better food, not cheap but reasonable for size of dish - a perfect night out for meat lovers. Definitely recommend and will come again ASAP.

My son and I ate here for dinner. We were greeted by the server and she was very friendly. She took our order and came back to check on us. The food arrived hot and was very tasty! The service was friendly, efficient and professional. We were made to feel very welcome! The portions were medium-sized or a little bigger. The taste was excellent. We really enjoyed our meal. We will definitely be returning to this restaurant.

The restaurant is just in the central square of Darmstadt, and it is easy to find it. When you enter you may choose to stay downstairs in the typical brewery, even to eat, or may go upstairs in the elegant restaurant. We went upstairs, the hall and the tables are very elegant and waiter was very kind. The menu offer typical german food, from meat to fish. We had boiled beef in a very nice and soft vegetable and green cream, and my colleague fresh herring with onions and cream. It has been very good, as the beer. The price was really appropriate, main dish + beverage around 16-20 euro.

Welcome to Alt-Oberurseler Brauhaus The Alt- Oberurseler Brewery is located in the heart of Oberursel Some use to call our brewery a pub, some call it a restaurant. We just love to be there and stay there. We serve home-brewed beer and enjoy good german f
Amazing setting. A building constricted in the 18th century yet quite current as it is well visited. A great place to sample a good home brewed traditional beer. Just amazing. The food what you would expect and prices are adequate. Lovely place. Will come again.
