What a gem of a place this is in the Black Forest. The friendly reception from staff, the quality of the food, room, not to mention the beer is outstanding. The guest house is set in the scenic village of Nordrach, which is beautiful. Both out evening meal and the breakfast was first class. The lady on reception, who never stopped working while we were there was friendly and welcoming. The bedroom was spacious, well equipped and of outstanding quality. Even the horizontal blinds on our balcony was motorized. We're already planning on stopping here next year when we visit the Black Forest. Can't praise this guest house enough for it's all round quality.

Gasthaus Zum Turm is a good option for those wanting a typical German Gasthaus experience. Popular with locals as well as tourists from what we observed. Service was prompt and attentive. Nice beer selection. Meals were very good although the pork knuckle was sadly a little bit of a letdown. I usually enjoy this dish but the skin was soft and not crisped as I am used to having. Overall decent value and recommended.

Etwas auÃerhalb von Nordrach am Berg gelegen. Altes Bauernhaus, liebevoll erhalten und gestaltet. Leider keine Sonnenterrasse, die Aussensitzplätze sind komplett überdacht.Kleine Karte mit hausgemachten Speisen und Kuchen.Die Bedienung war etwas unmotiviert, dabei war zumindest der Aussenbereich kaum belegt. Da ich nur etwas getrunken habe, kann ich Qualität und Menge der Gerichte nicht bewerten. Der Rest reicht für ein âbefriedigendâ und die Empfehlung, hier einzukehren und sich ein eigenes Bild zu machen.

There's no denying this is a beautiful part of the world and this village is in a terrific location for exploring the Black Forest.Generally the staff were very helpful, the owner amenable and the food excellent.The room seemed clean; although in our party several people had issues with the showers and one was blighted by bed bugs - the latter appears to be an isolated instance, but obviously not a pleasant experience.

We stayed in this hotel and didn't want to go out any more so we ate in the restaurant as well. This is as German as it get's, giants Schnitzels and great beer! Absolutely wonderfull! The schnitzels are great and highly recommendable.

This restaurant is well off the beaten track outside Oberharmersbach but it's all the better fir that. The views from the terrace are woderful and so is the food. In common with all the other diners who were there at the same time as we were, we took a doggy bag hone with us. Great authentic food (including a great dressed salad of lettuce, shredded carrot and cabbage and cucumber) at a great price.

Vesperstube Harkhof is the only overnight accommodation in this section of the West Way and is located a few meters from the trail. Apparently, the word 'vesper' roughly translates to snacks, and that's what's for dinner. They could improve their snack selection by having more non-potato vegetables on the menu. Our room overlooked the restaurant patio and was noisy throughout the day. The room does not breath at night, even with the windows all open. When we opened the windows, fresh cow smell and two giant wasps rushed into our bedroom and refused to leave. That all said, the owners were extraordinarily friendly, our scrambled eggs with ham and potato salad dinner was tasty, and we slept well. We also enjoyed the sunsets and beautiful valley views and would stay here again.

This is a delightful hotel with a great restaurant. It is set in a residential area about 15 mins walk from the Offenburg train station. We visited so that we could take the train from Offenburg to Donaueschingen a great trip through the Black Forest. A little dated in parts but that is its charm. Good parking. The chef has a great menu of traditional German fare, great flavours. Good choice of dishes and price range. Nice little garden with childrenâs play area. Booked direct via email, good efficient response. Would visit again to enjoy restaurant. Helpful pleasant staff. Unusual combination of great restaurant good hotel, Fantastic value. I agree a great base for the Black Forest, and saves on the high Swiss prices.
