Enjoyed a meal there with my wife. The waitress, also one of the owners is in her eighties! But still very sharp. The meal was gut burgerliche Kuche, simple but very good and tasty. The wine was local and very good. It was a very special experience! And at a very low price. Unbelievable!!

We ate at this restaurant every night during our recent trip to the Mosel and both the food and the service were excellent. The host speaks almost perfect English and is permanently cheerful and attentive. If your in Leiwen or the surrounding area you must visit this restaurant!

The guest house is located directly on the Moselle overlooking the top vineyard "Leiwener Laurentiuslay". In front of the door are bus stop, bike path and pleasure boat landing. Also Mosel leisure facilities with Wassertretbecken and shopping are in the i
We managed to snag a table on the terrace over looking the river. We came to this part of Germany basically for the wines and the restaurant has a wonderful selection of which we sampled many. We chose the 3 course dinner menu and it was delicious and well made. Our first course was Scheiben vom Iberico Onglet in Kapern- Thunfischsauce mit kleinem Salat which is their version of Vitello Tonnato and was thoroughly German and delicious. Main course was Rumpsteak vom Iberico Beef and was beautifully presented and yummy. I generally lean towards Mediterranean cuisines and have little experience with "Bavarian" flavour profiles so even though it was totally out of my wheelhouse is was really good. A nice introduction and change for my palette. The dessert, for me, was the star of the meal. Riesling Sabayon mit frischen Erdbeeren a Sabayon made with Riesling and strawberries. Absolutely divine. Bravo!

This place is new in town. An old building has been renovated with lots of passion at its best, the mix between old a d new is great. Many different little rooms to chose from and even the nenne is not so big, the food is very high standard due to the fantastic cook they have. You will not regret coming here !
We came across this Weingut late one evening when we were looking for somewhere to stay the night. Unfortunately they didn't have any rooms available but the owner (who has got to be one of the friendliest hosts in Germany) rang everywhere in the village until he found us a room at a nearby hotel. It was very good of him -- he was on the phone for a good 15 mins or so hunting on our behalf. Nothing was too much trouble. He stayed open late especially for us and served us up a great, filling meal of pork steak, done in special herbs and spices, and potato salad. Washed down with a glass of local Riesling -- it really hit the spot. They also offered Flammenkuechen and various sausage meals. If you've never been to a Straussenwirtschaft, they are casual, informal restaurants, usually in the courtyard of a winemaker's or farmer's home or business. They offer good, rustic fare in a basic, usually lively setting. This one seemed to be a firm favourite with the locals and I can see why. Our host, Herr Karl-Heinz Boehmer, really knows about hospitality. If you're in Neumagen-Dhron and want to sample some good, local fare, and get a glimpse of local life, I'd really recommend it.

This was our first trip canoeing down the Mosel. After a short paddle from Trittenheim, we pitched camp on the river bank site and wandered up here in the afternoon. We didn't know what to expect, or much about Mosel wine, but this was the first winery we came to, and we got a very friendly reception. Afterwards I read my Hugh Johnson who says Neumagen isn't the best vineyard - those on the banks of the river Dhron behind the village, and the Piesporter Goldtröpfchen downstream are better - but it's the oldest wine-making area on the Mosel, dating back to the Romans. The wine tasted jolly good to me! The following morning we paddled past the replica Roman ship.

This restaurant is excellent! We went with a group of 11 and it was no problem. The atmosphere is great. Wonderful decorations and clearly the owners are avid orchid growers. The food is excellent! Try the Vulkan with blood sausage! Or any other more common dish. You won't be disappointed. The cook made up a nice vegetarian meal that was not on the menu. It is located right near the roman boat so easy to find but not on the main road thru town.

This is a great spot in Trittenheim, easy walking distance from most of the accommodations in town. We had the wiener schnitzel with salad and chips. It was the best schnitzel we had in Germany. Reasonable prices too (around â¬12).

Nicely situated with a view of the Mosel river and the vineyards on the other bank. Decent restaurant with quite an extensive menu. The rumpsteak is very tender and tases deliciously! Especially in the summer this restaurant is a good destination thanks to its terrace.

Just picked this place by chance after strolling around the village. We are definitely glad that we did. The meal was great value and enjoyable and while sitting at the bar afterwards for a couple of extra drinks, we were engaged in conversations with friendly locals and staff, despite being non-German speakers. Very welcoming place.
