You will like it! Went here on a walk round Schauinsland with the brother-in-law who lives in Freiburg. It was promised as a good place to have lunch, half way round and so it proved. It is possible to reach it by road but it is literally at the end of a road to nowhere, so good luck if you haven't got local knowledge. But if you do get there, by whatever means, you should be rewarded with good food, we certainly were. The vegetarian had a salad as a starter and then a mushroom dish served with a a potato pancake. Another member of the party had a different mushroom dish and both reported them as very good. The two of us who had venison dishes were also satisfied. My hazelnut topped venison with cabbage and noodles was absolutely excellent. There are fine views from the dining room and the service was good. It is not a cheap place for lunch my dish was 25 euros and it irked slightly that tap water was 3.20 a ltr. As we needed to continue our walk we didn't sample the deserts, unfortunately. It is certainly a restaurant we would like to return to.

I stayed at this hotel and when I did a search, I was surprised to find the restaurant in the hotel was the highest rated in town. I had dinner there and it was awesome. It was there price fix menu and had a wonderful shrimp appetizer and monk fish entrée. It was incredible. Well worth the stop if you are in the area.

Wir besuchen dieses Lokal seit Jahren immer wieder gerne. Die Einrichtung in den beiden Gasträumen ist sehr gemütlich, der Service durch die Wirtin und ihre Angestellte freundlich und aufmerksam. Es gibt badisch regionale Küche, teilweise auch als kleinere Portionen. Für einen gemütlichen Abend mit ordentlicher Hausmannskost sehr zu empfehlen.

This review is for the restaurant and not for the hotel. There is a dedicated page for this place for the hotel.That said, the restaurant is nice and cozy. It becomes quite busy in the evening, so I would recommend a reservation.The dishes are typical German. Nothing fancy here, but standard. I highly recommend the "Langeck salad" which gives you a huge plate of salad with Avocado, nuts, etc. Really, really delicious.The menu is a bit sparse. Especially, there are no vegetarian options. None, really. nada, zip, nothing.The fish itself was a bit on the try side and too salty. However, the rest of our meal was great. So, I think it was a one time issue.

On my return visit for several evening dinners, I found this wonderful restaurant has not changed. The attentive staff, the variety of traditional German dishes and the atmosphere is still the best. In a quiet setting across from the trail along the creek, I enjoy a walk, dinner and then walk again. Makes for a wonderful evening.

We ate twice within a week at the Linde, which claims "gut-bürgerliche regionale Küche" - high standard homecooking based on regional ingredients and tastes. The ambience is the very comfortable in the building with a 350year history. The service is friendly, attentive and competent, the prices reasonable. A good selection of regional wines and spirits is on offer. In our food selection we favoured the local trout and the mushrooms, which are in season. Both evenings, the main ingredients of the food served (trout and mushrooms prepared in different styles, as well as the sauces) were fresh, tasty and prepared to high standard. Equally, the side-dishes were barely edible. E.g. the fried potatos were limp and soggy, the peas overcooked, wrinkled and tasteless. It appeared as if the components of the meals were prepared in different kitchens or at least by different chefs. We remarked on this in a very friendly way to the head waiter the first evening, only to experience the very same again upon our second attempt. A pity ......

As an overnight guest at the Gasthof Belchenblick, I enjoyed several meals at its restaurant. I was visiting Munstertal on business along with several colleagues who were staying elsewhere in the village, and the Belchenblick was consistently everyone's favorite place for dinner. I was particularly fond of the Kurbissuppe (pumpkin soup), the house salad, the spaghetti with pfifferling (chanterelle mushrooms) and the pfifferling crepe. The wine list is primarily German, and they have a delicious assortment of house made cakes and desserts. Service is relaxed, encouraging a leisurely dining experience. Outdoor seating is excellent if the weather cooperates. Very little English is spoken here, although the proprietor speaks well and is usually serving at dinner.

Despite the restaurant bring very busy the service was great. The food was amazing. At 39 years old it was the nicest meal I've ever had. I had a type of mixed grill. Veal beef turkey and pork with fries. It was amazing and for a family of 2 adults 2 kids 2 courses and 2 rounds of drinks cost â¬80 or £60 at an exchange rate of 1.36. Amazing and a bargain. We'll be eating here again next week. Don't miss out

Enjoyed a sunny, cool weekday autumn afternoon lunch here when service was relaxed and the sun brilliantly lit up the fresh flowers o the table.They have instilled a genuine cultural/historical feeling to the place in decor and in menu.Its little valley and neighboring monastery round out a charming setting.
