My wife and I visited this place as a last minute choice and we were really glad we did. It was out in the middle of nowhere, but it was worth the drive. It is a quaint, family-run establishment. They had a nice selection of regional specialties to choose from and accommodated special requests. The food was definitely freshly prepared and homemade - no frozen/instant stuff or leftovers. Best of all, the portions were generous and the prices very reasonable. The only problem is that you probably won't have room for dessert...

We stumbled across this restaurant quite by accident. We booked a place in Mosbach planning to see Heidelberg the next day. We arrived late and the restaurant recommended to us by our hosts was already closed but this was half a block down. We saw a menu posted and a plaque saying famous poet Goethe had stayed there. Went up to the door to check and it was open. Stayed open until midnight. We lived in Germany for 4 years and had returned to Germany for a holiday so we have eaten a lot of German food from everywhere and I promise you this food was fantastic!!! Huge portions , and very friendly and English speaking Arta waited on us . She was in college planning on being a doctor. She helped us choose and I had the Mailander schitznel. It had melted cheese and then a tomato sauce on top but creamy like it was 1/2 marinara sauce and maybe 1/2 sour cream. I looked it up online after we returned home and seems there are several ways to prepare this dish but all 4 people in our group had great food but liked mine best and portions were so big I couldn't eat all of mine even with all the help from our group.It was sooooooo good!!!!! I have probably eaten at least a thousand schitznels in my life and this was by far the best!!! Coming back next year..... Congrats to Manfred Gregor for hiring great chef and waitress!!! I believe the total price for mine was 10 euros, what a value!!

Wir haben durch Zufall dieses Lokal gefunden, weil wir nicht geplant hatten. Obwohl wir sehr spät ankamen, kurz vor 14 Uhr (Küche schlieÃt um 14Uhr), hat man uns sehr freundlich empfangen und die Bestellung aufgenommen .Das Essen super lecker und frisch zubereitet. Gulaschsuppe hausgemacht und reichlich. Bratkartoffeln mit Spiegelei, frisch und wachsweich, lecker! Und alles zu moderaten Preisen.

Small town so choices are limited. This is a nice restaurant in town with typical food. The schnitzel and rump steak was very good. Would recommend to travelers.

Just two blocks from the center of Mosbach and attached to a very good hotel is Zum Amtsstueble. A broader-than-usual selection of German fare was served with class. Everything we had was delicious, and the portions were generous. We went on a Saturday night and the restaurant was nearly full. Still, the service was sharp. Prices are what one would expect at a "hotel restaurant"... i.e., a bit higher than usual. Still, the large number of locals eating beside us attests to the value (good service, excellent food, pleasant atmosphere).

Anlässlich einer Hochzeit waren alle 150 Gäste hier eingeladen.Das Essen hatten die Eheleute vorher ausgesucht, italienische Vorspeisen, diverse italienische Hauptgänge und Nachspeisen.Tolles Essen, sehr guter Service, gute Getränkeauswahl. Und alles zu einem sehr überschaubaren Preis.Gute Parkmöglichkeiten direkt am Restaurant.

I'd rate this as more than average but not necessarily "Very Good". I enjoy the garden in the summer time and the restaurant is cozy int he winter. They used to have really great breakfasts but last year stopped offering them. Rather disappointing as there is a lack of good breakfast places in Mosbach. The salads often come with too much salad dressing but the portions are good sized- I never leave hungry! The food is tasty and good comfort food of the Germans.

Vi tog den restaurang som låg överst på listan av restauranger i Mosbach. Ligger lite otillgängligt utanför stadens kärna. Väldigt mysig miljö. Väldigt trfvlig personal och vi var där tidigt på kvällen då inte många andra gäster hade kommit. Snabb service där vi fick kort information om maten. Revbenen kan rekommenddras. Stora portioner. Vi kommer tillbaka.
