It's been almost 2 years to the day since my last review of this establishment. Once again I was here for a quick business lunch with a colleague from overseas. We sat by the window overlooking the airstrip and started by ordering non alcoholic drinks - apple juice & sparkling water - Apfelschorle. I then chose the Sülze - brawn with fried potatoes. Quite appetising really. Service was fast and very friendly. The waitress was well aware that we only had a short time for lunch before getting back to the office.

Hi! Great having you here at Herkenrath Hof! Established in 1860 this historic place became well known for its hospitality far beyond the town of Leverkusen. Enjoy seasonal German food cooked with best local ingredients, have a freshly draught Kölsch or j
My colleague and I recieved a very friendly welcome and were made to feel at home - with the special attention made to communicate with us in our native, English tongue. There was a good choice and the portions were more than sufficient. The starters were OK - I had prawns in a tomato sauce which was tasty. My ensuing Irish oxen steak on the bone was huge and delicious, if a little on the well done side. Next time (and there will certainly be a next time) I'll ensure to request that it is prepared in a way that it is a little more juicy. My colleagues Wienerschnitzel was great - again a huge plateful. Our waiter made our visit particularly pleasant and we concluded with a Espresso/Ramazotti on the house. I'll certainly be back.

We visited this restaurant on a friend's recommendation and we were not disappointed. The restaurant has a very nice ambience and looks very welcoming. There are large table settings where you can gather around like a family. The place was lively with everyone sitting around talking, playing cards and just having a good time. It seemed like a neighbourhood hangout. The food was fresh, wholesome and delicious. Also the staff were very welcoming and attentive. I definitely recommend this restaurant and would love to go back again.

I brought some Ukrainien friends here recently ahead of the Champions league game in the BayArena. Our waitress coped admirably with the mix of Ukrainien, English and German languages. The extra challenge was the 15 month old child who was the centre of all the attention. Two of us ordered the Berlin styled liver and onions# which was good. The sausage salad was too much for such a000 discerning colleague had his difficulty finishing the breaded chicken nuggets.
The owner, Mario, is a very friendly guy and will make you feel like you're at home in his restaurant. I've visited the place for the first time back in August 2018 and I was hooked, not only the food is amazing, but the staff is very professional and will take the time to make sure that you're getting only the best.I definitely recommend the place for a visit even if the location is not easily accessible, being almost out of town, but neighbors will have better luck in this regard.

My wife's family is from Croatia so I was happy to find that this was the restaurant attached to my hotel. It was almost as good as the home cooked food we have had when we visited her family. Nothing is good as lovingly, expertly homecooked food so this is as high a praise as I can give a restaurant/

We made a table reservation but when arriving â of the tables were empty, no tourists but locals. The furnishing is rustic. Menu list offers extensive meals. Staff was friendly and welcoming. We ordered "Schweinshaxe" and "Sauerbraten". Result: substantial. The taste of the "Schweinshaxe" was strange, the "Sauerbraten" was average with much to much gravy. So all in one: food was everage, no special quality; reasonable prices.

Having consulted TripAdvisor (again) my overseas business guest and I decided to try out the restaurant Zum Claashäuschen one Tuesday evening. Even though I have lived in Leverkusen for many years I have never been here before and I was very favourably impressed. Having parked in the extensive free car park we walked into the main part of the restaurant and were greeted by a friendly young man who installed us at a table close to the window. He brought over the blackboard displaying the âtodayâs specialsâ and took our drinks order. I had a ginger based Prosecco type drink which was suitably refreshing and cool natural mineral water. For starters I went for the antipasta and my guest chose the salmon on potato âreibkuchenâ (fritters or pancakes). Both went down well. For the main course I couldnât resist the veal liver on a bed of mashed potatoes while my guest decided to try the vegetarian quiche. Again, both dishes were nicely presented and delicious. I ordered a quarter litre of house red Rioja wine with the liver which was a perfect accompaniment. We passed on a dessert although we both had an espresso and I took a tiny, mini panna cotta on the side. Finally we were offered a digestif to complete the meal â I took an Obstbrand. Service throughout was quick and efficient. Both young gentlemen who served us made us feel very welcome and I know that Iâll be back again soon.
