We stayed in the nearby hotel and came here for an afternoon snack. We sat in the back, on the small terras and really enjoyed the view over the lake. I had a piece of pie and my boyfriend had the waffles. Both were very nice. The staff was also very friendly, so I can recommend this place for an afternoon snack if you visit the Ruhrsee.

After our arrival in Heimbach-Hasenfeld, a wet travel by motorbike, we were looking to grab some lunch nearby. The ambiance is a bit outdated, it gave us the feeling we were visiting our grandma. But, grandma, was able to cook a nice lunch. The Camembert my partner had, and my Curry-wurst were both quite tasty. Not fine-dining quality, but it was a welcomed meal.Later that day, we stopped by for a drink at the bar, after an evening hike. The owner was cleaning up after a busy night, but had time to chat with us, which was nice. Not the greatest place around, it is up for renewal, but we had good times.

Der Seehof is a hotel-restaurant. This establishment is situated magnificently at the head of the dam in the river Rur, through which the artificial Rursee is formed. It was a glorious day;despite the crowd we succeeded to obtain a table at the edge of the terrace, overlooking the Rursee with the water sports. However, most of the restaurant is self-service; as the place was teeming with tourists, we decided to get drinks only; at this station with the self service fridge the crowd was manageable; the food stations were discouraging busy. The prices for the drinks were a pleasant surprise. A small part of the terrace was dedicated to an à -la-carte restaurant section. However, to pay for the privilege that the food is brought to you at your table was just not on in our opinion. The verdict: Pleasant outside tables overlooking the Rursee, cheap drinks to be obtained inside at the fridge, but not appealing to have lunch or dinner.

Nice place for breakfast, but also for 'Kaffee und Kuchen' (coffee and cake). The cafe also has a nice outdoor seating area, overlooking the river Rur. Prices are very acceptable. The quality is good, so is service.I was doubting about rating the Rur-Cafe as 'very good' or 'excellent'.I choosed for the latter, because I was here a long time ago and returned almost automatically.

Set up a hillside overlooking the Rhur. Food was home cooked and delicious. The lady waitress was so helpful and efficient. We will definitely return again with friends.

If you like to drink a nice glass of wine with your meals, bring a big purse or avoid this place. We ate here with a group of 6, the food was really OK and reasonably priced. However, the wine prices are excessive, so we choose the white house Riesling, still 30 euros for a bottle, but really very bad, we even did not finish it. We choose a simple french red wine, very tasteful, but 50 euros??We certainly will not come back here.

Your typical average family resort restaurant. Well catered for the family with kids play area and good kids menu. The food is priced slightly higher then other Germany restaurants and quality is very average but with a vast variety of meals to choose from the menu. Bookings are essential!

We were staying at Der Seehof and was recommended this restaurant from the reception. It was a lovely restaurant tucked along the Main Street of Heimbach. Definitely need a car to drive to from Der Seehof. My husband had the mandarin curry chicken dish which was delicious and I had the vegetarian special for the day which was also very good! The dessert was large and worth it!!

Summer evening in Heimbach was very calm. At 20;30 I was refused in multiple restaurants (too late) and was left with the bad restaurants or pizza; I gave this restaurant a last try, and it was no problem to have dinner here. Off course it's German local kitchen. But still, from experience I can tell you, this place is very good at it. I had a very good German meal, cheap, good beer and salad. Really no complaints. I really would recommend to anybody. I ate in the "bristo" (pub), but it was very cosy. Very friendly staff! You can pay with card, but not with foreign credit cards.
