This place is, indeed, cozy, cheap, inviting. It has some lovely tables. The menu is simple. but dishes are filling and quite affordable. The staff is very welcoming. They spoke some English, which was helpful

We enjoyed good basic pizza while we visited Gotha's Christmas market. Very nice atmosphere with family-friendly servers.

I was there with 3 friends, we didn't have a table booked what we got a stange look from the waiter for. We were left to choose our own table, while approaching one in a corner we were briefly told "that's reserved", so we went to another one. The same waiter was not very welcoming while taking orders. food was very enjoyable though, prices are fair. For prices and food I do recommend this restaurant, but staff should try harder.
Cakes, pastries, ice cream, drinks and specialty coffees. Also chocolates and tea biscuits. Small family business with 100% own production.
We stopped off here during a long bike ride. The quality, freshness and variety of cakes is extraordinary. We took coffees and hot chocolate, the quark cake, plum cake and cherry cake. Served by a super friendly lady. There's a very nice interior area as well as a terrace.Highly recommended!
The Quality Hotel, which is near the zoo in Gotha, serves wonderful meals. Sit and enjoy a cool beer at the hotel bar. If your mouth waters at what you see in the open-view kitchen, take a close look at the menu, which offers specialities from Thuringen a
I can only recommend not to stay there for lunch in order to have a nice stay. After several minutes of sitting there, two things meet the eye:1. The service personnel is not especially friendly.2. Their attendance is very unevenly spread. When ordering it only takes them some time to bring everything. My choice was the "Fitness Salad" which dies first if all not match one's first idea of 'crunchy fresh salad'. Instead you get a not at all "fitnesslike" mixture of buffet salad, mainly consisting of Kraut-Salad and tomato in instant dressing. After eating about half the salad, I felt overfilled already and I could not finish the plate though quite hungry before. Was at work the next day and could barely manage to concentrate. The next day at the Doctors, I figured out that I became sick due to bad food (then remembering the somewhat strange, slightly alcoholic taste of the salad). Result: not able to work for further two days. Since I ate nothing else around that time, I definitely blame the salad.Overall result: a good hotel with a not too recommendable kitchen.

I spent some time in Thuringen for business purposes, and must say that in spite of its great tradition and fantastic natural resources (farms, game) it was a gastronomic nightmare. This restaurant stands out as a decent option: the owner knows how to cook (except the gravies, rather tasteless, but homemade nevertheless), it is fresh, and he even runs cooking courses and has a good hand. He is friendly and does his best to offer attractive "local" fare in this splendid small town dominated by fake Italian restaurants. It is good value for money. The drinks options were pathetic : besides draft beer (and some licor), he had two (bad) Italian wine options, of which after two orders of 25cl, only one was left - he replied in local slang "der Wein is alle" (wine is gone). A pity, since there are some interesting local grape beverages (from the Saale valley) that are worth exploring and go well with the local roasts. So I definitely recommend the place if you are stuck in Gotha, and want to avoid "Pizza Hawaii" next door, but there is still a long way to make it a fully enjoyable night.

It's true that you won't find haute cuisine here, but the restaurant makes no such claims. It's a traditional German restaurant and what they do, they do well. A lovely setting beside the Schloss, the interior is authentic and pretty. I had a Schweinschnitzel, which was tasty and tender. My partner went for a Bratwurst and Sauerkraut and was very happy with it. The draught beer was refreshing: good quality stuff. It's true that the manageress had a very ungracious manner, but our waitress was very pleasant, friendly and efficient. All-in-all a very enjoyable experience.
