We had two great stays in the Hotel Hirsch in October this year. The staff is very complaisant and especially Udo, the owner is an extremely helpful, straightforward and kind man. We felt very welcome and enjoyed the sociable atmosphere of the house. What is uncommon for a smaller Hotel like this is, that it had an Elevator - big plus! The room we stayed in at our first stay was arranged friendly, a little folksy and everything was neat and clean. At our second stay we were lodged in the spacious holiday apartment, which included a small "kitchen-area" with fridge and sink. Both, our room and the apartment had a balcony. Free Wifi was available. ... An accomodating and relaxing place with friendly people to stay! Always again!
Friendly staff , not all of which speak English, this is not a criticism but an observation. I was in Germany and expected everything to be in German so it was a bonus when the gent who seemed to be the owner / manager spoke English. He ably translated items on the menu and amended one of the dishes for me. So a pleasant evening was had by all

We were taken here by friends we were staying with. I do like a buzzy restaurant so was somewhat sceptical when we walked through the door and the chef Peter was sitting playing cards with his pals. However, he jumped to and all the staff were very attentive. Gradually the restaurant filled up mainly with locals which is always a good sign. I had serious stomach rumbles so went for the mixed grill expecting just a very satisfying plate of meat. In no time a bowl of soup with pasta and meat arrived before a large salad even before the main course. When the meet arrived it was thick and cooked to perfection. Accompanied with garlic butter and chips it was fantastic. Then to cap it all I cereal with baileys and cream appeared. Together with copious amounts of wine and beers we had a great night. Peter's wife Betina made a point of talking to everyone. My multi course meal was..........you won't believe this.......15euros 80!!! I have been to many local restaurants in Germany and this right up there. You have to go here. Enjoy, I did.

We arrived late in the nearby campsite and needed a good meal after a very long drive. Despite it being late and it looking like they were closing up for the night, they welcomed us in, were very friendly, served a lovely wine and a delicious meal of carpaccio (which was spot on), a great burger, schnitzel and tasty salad. We were very impressed and would thoroughly recommend it.

We were 3 friends last week because we read was one of the best restaurants of Enzklosterle. We went with jeans and informal fitting when we came into the recepcion asking for a table they told us was full in spite the 50% of restaurant was empty. They didnt't recieve us in the restaurant. Was embarassing and disgusting. I wouldn't recommend it to nobody.

This place is packed on weekends. Also offers rooms and vacation apartments but we came for the food! Recommended to us by German frequent visitors who celebrate special occasions there, birthdays, anniversaries, family reunions. An easy drive from Calw, Pforzheim, Bad Wildbad, Freudenstadt, even Stuttgart. Scenic drive off the beaten track.beautiful cozy dining areas and enclosed veranda setting a festive mood. Surrounded by virtually untouched nature, on a steep mountainside, easy parking but limited. Swabian delicacies, expertly prepared and attractively presented. Fresh regional produce, great variety, extensive menus freshly prepared. Baked goods made on premises. Variety of beers and wines, delicious desserts. No detail is overlook, you'll feel pampered for sure. Make reservations on Sunday's or you might face disappointment. Tel 49+07085 7233.

This remarkeable facility is accessable only by bicycle, cross-country skis, or on foot. It serves great mid-day meals in season and is very popular as it is accessed by numerous forest trails which are well marked as they are throughout the Black Forest. I have hiked into the Grunhutte on two occasions, once with my son and once with my wife. It is a nice excursion, especially if one takes a nice long lunch break. The food is hearty, plentiful, and reasonably priced. The last time I was there, a rather large group of elderly gentlemen, obviously choir members, put on a brief impromptu concert for the other many patrons. The Grunhutte is operated by the brother of Andreas Schraft who runs the popular Gasthaus Berghof in nearby Enzkloesterle / Nonnenmiss.
