This recently renovated guest house proved a disappointment because the service was lousy - a new girl was sent to serve us and the elder, more experienced waitresses just looked on. The food was mediocre, one dish was too salty to eat, and we won't be going back again!

Four of us ate at the Resengörg for lunch. The restaurant was crowded and there was hardly a free table. The portions at other tables were huge. Menus were quickly provided and drink orders taken. Each of us ordered a traditional Bavarian meal. I had a 'dark' beer and the others had different wines.Meals arrived reasonably quickly considering preparation time. Portion sizes were very generous. I had the trout. It was the biggest I have ever been served. Unfortunately bigger does not mean better. I wound up taking half of it home. As for the quality, it was OK, but not nearly as good as most that I have had. This was the first time in my life that I have had trout with potato salad. To make it worse, it had an acidic, vinegary taste. That combination does not work! The potato salad detracts from the ordinary trout. The dark beer was quite ordinary and not up to Bavarian standards. My tablemates were about as pleased as I was. None found the taste or seasoning anything special. That is not to say that anything was bad, but we were all expecting something special.Service was efficient if not especially cordial. Prices were a bit above average for the quality and average for the quantity. The Resengörg is an OK choice for those looking for generous portions in a bright, clean dining area.

Lots of place. Historical atmosphere. Local dishes. Beautiful road to the restaurant. A good place also for coffee and cake in the afternoon.

And I have eaten many, many dishes of sauerbraten in my 30 years of living and working in Germany. Hundreds. The sauerbraten at the Schwanenbrau is served in two nice, thick pieces which are tender enough to be easily picked apart with a fork (as it should be) the gravy is exceptional, not too thin, not too thick, just right and sweet. Served with a large bread dumpling which I ate and a potato dumpling which I ate about 1/3 of. Delicious red cabbage. Only disappointment was the lack of any jelly or cranberry or currant sauce, to which I am accustomed. The gravy was sweet enough to offset this either oversight or just omission on the part of the cook. I told the waitress it was the best of my life and she passed it on to the kitchen. Delicious house beer as well. I had a Weizen with my sauerbraten but next time will choose a lighter pilsner as I was pretty stuffed when I walked out.
