Excellent quality food and selection of wines. Friendly service and great ambience - this restaurant is well worth a visit if you are in the area. It is popular with the locals and surrounding areas - so bookings on Friday and Saturday nights is advisable. I would even go as far as recommending this restaurant for an award. Highly recommended!

Our small cozy Auberge situated at the foot of the castle in Vianden. It is one of the oldest buildings in Vianden and formerly served as a lock smiths. Today, there is a rustic restaurant with 9 modern, newly renovated rooms. We offer specialties from th
Upon the recommendation of our hotel staff we had dinner on our only night here. The inside is large, with tables in two different floors and there is also ample seating outside which is where we chose to dine. I ordered the spareribs, which come with French fries or baked potato and a green salad. They also provided French bread and a tasty dip for staters. The portions are very generous especially the spareribs!. The service was friendly and polite and even with drinks and desserts the bill was reasonable. I would recommend, especially on a warms summer's eve.

I had the pleasure of stopping here for lunch while wandering the back roads looking for the village of my ancestors. The food was fresh and really tasty and I think these were the best fries I have ever had. The setting was stunning on a warm summer afternoon. Service was great and the owner even brought out a computer and found the village I was searching for and gave me directions. This is also a hotel and I were to return to do some hiking I would stay here fir a night.

Only interesting as our German is not that good to translate it all. Very popular grill house restaurant with additional brewery at one end!Good food choice, but uncertain what it all was!Certainly a lot of pork and veal.No English spoken, but why should they!Made very welcome and efforts made to cater for a food allergy problem.Service was good but it can get busy.
We were there at the start of the hunting season. I had a nice hunting dish. But the schnitzels were also delicious. The atmosphere in the restaurant is more modern but definitely German.

I have eaten at this establishment many times and have never been disappointed! Chef Heinz is a master of the kitchen, and is always available to recommend the best meal of the day. Cold Bitburger Pils on tap, as well as a nice selection of "brandwein" (schnapps), distilled on the property by the chef's brother Gunter. (I am particularly fond of the Williams Christ Birn Brand, (pear schnapps)). Can't go wrong with the Jaeger Schnitzel, but as stated above, I have never had a bad meal at "Poldi's" (as it's known by the Holstumers).

We enjoyed a quite good lunch in a pleasant location. The quality of the food is excellent and the prices are moderate. The waitress who served us was very friendly. Another staff not showed so much interest and courteousness because as we left and asked to get our coats back she only said " behind the door on the left side" without making any move to assist us. She not even got the idea to open the exit door for us despite of having very few customers.Overall we enjoyed our lunch.

We ate here this evening as we were staying close by. Clearly well frequented by locals. It serves German and Croatian cuisine. The Grill Platte was huge and tasted fantastic. The Pfifferlinge are in season and went well with schnitzel. Bitburger beer. What could be wrong? Highly recommended!
