This hotel-restaurant is located on the edge of Bondorf, a few minutes drive outside Bad Saulgau (or a pleasant half hour walk in daylight hours), overlooking fields.Specialises in local Swabian cuisine - and on specific nights (ring to check), Dennete ("Swabian pizza") from the on-site wood-fired oven.There is a also a children's menu which the children can colour in (crayons provided!)We often come here for a family get-together when we're visiting Bad Saulgau and have always found it friendly with generous portions of good "pub grub" food (it is not haute cuisine - nor would I want it to be - most dishes are served with french fries or Swabian Spätzle). There is space for the children to move around - and in the summer horses in the adjoining paddock for them to say hello to.

Ich habe jüngst Pizza beim City Döner geholt, als wir in Saulgau waren. Das war sehr lecker. Die Pizzen hatten gute Zutaten und sie waren günstig im Preis. Ein sauberer Laden mit nettem Service. Für die schnelle Küche kann man hier auf jeden Fall hin gehen. Waren mit Sicherheit nicht zum letzten Mal dort.

Um es vorab zu sagen: Es hat uns allen âgeschmecktâ! Regenbogenforelle mit mediterranem Gemüse,. Forellenfilet mit Bratkartoffeln und die Fischburger. Obwohl vier von fünf Personen ihr Gericht mit Salz und Pfeffer nachgewürzt haben! Ich persönlich fand den Beilagensalat am besten: Vielerlei Salate und Gemüse mit einem leckeren Dressing. Den Fisch fand ich recht geschmacksneutral, die âBratkartoffelnâ waren aufgewärmte Bratkartoffeln, nicht knusprig sondern weich, nicht sonderlich würzig, aber in recht viel Fett (Butter?) erwärmt. Die Ofenkartoffeln, die dazu bestellt wurden, waren auch aufgewärmt und weich und ziemlich fad â also ich finde, das geht nicht! Bratkartoffeln und Ofenkartoffeln auf der Karte haben und die dann aufgewärmt und lappig auf den Tisch bringen! Aber man konnte es essen. Preislich war das allerdings im Rahmen: Ein Fischburger mit Salat und Remoulade und einem kleinen Fisch-Filet für 9,90EUR die ganze Regenbogenforelle auf Gemüse für 16,40 EUR. Auch die Getränkepreise bewegten sich im normalen Mittel: 3,60 EUR für eine Weinschorle, 4,60 EUR für einen Tee mit Rum. Hier ist irgendwo angegeben worden, dass man sich ein einem gehobenen Preisrahmen bewegt, bei â¬â¬â¬-â¬â¬â¬â¬, also das stimmt nicht. Es handelt sich beim âSeestübleâ nicht um ein Restaurant der gehobenen Klasse, dazu hat das Essen zu wenig Pepp, aber es ist ein nettes Lokal. Das Innere ist ganz eher modern eingerichtet, mit hellem Holz und hellen Wänden, auf jedem Tisch eine Rose, â aber es war recht kühl in dem Lokal. Auf den Toiletten war es kalt. Gerne komme ich allerdings hier noch einmal im Sommer her. Leider habe ich gar nichts gesehen von dem See.

We discovered this romantic restaurant in the center of Bad Saulgau while walking around. We decided to have dinner and were not disappointed. The atmosphere is friendly. The menu is typical German in a good way. Had a very good Schnitzel. The Flädle soup is delicious as starter.

The staff was friendly, very good and able to help me in English. The food was good and reasonable priced. I had the turkey medallions with curry sauce, and it was quite enjoyable. It seemed like many of the patrons were locals which is a good sign for a restaurant. The restaurant took credit cards (except not American Express).

The terrace was full this nice July evening, but the other restaurants on the main square of Bad Saulgau seemed to be empty. So we expected fantastic food, based on TA reviews as well.We had a Tapas-platter which was more like a collection from can's in a delicates shop.The spaghetti with duck breast was over-helmed by honey. The octopus was dry and rubberlike at the same time.The waitress did her best, providing a good service in the fully loaded restaurant

Ochsen was a good steakhouse style restaurant. Service was good and helpful. There wasn't an English menu, but the waitress was able to translate for me and make suggestions. So, that was very helpful. The meal I had was typical for a steakhouse and had large portions of food, although perhaps a bit overpriced. The steak was nicely cooked with a good sear on it. Unfortunately, the dessert (ice cream tiramasu) wasn't as good and tasted as if it came out of a box. The atmosphere was enjoyable, and the decor was comtemporary.
