Enjoy regional products and wines from the winery Laquai. We like to welcome you in a nice and friendly atmosphere.
We were recommended by our landlady to eat here, we went down for a beer first to have a look, it is situated overlooking the river, we were made welcome to sit out side in the afternoon sun, the place was quite busy with lots of different people dropping in to eat and drink we noticed at lot of locals were there which is always a good thing, the restaurant is also biker friendly.we asked about coming back later to eat and were more or less informed they had already reserved us a table of 6 for 730 the landlord had a great sense of hummer so we said we would be there for 8, We turned up just before 8 to find a coach load just being seated, he came over seated us at our table gave us German and English menus to choose from (they are the same meals just look different when written) we joked over the coach party with him ordered our drinks a few minutes later we ordered our meals which didn't take that long really to come out, we would definitely recommend the onion soup with cognac, we all commented on it never had anything like it before and so far haven't had anything like it since, we all chose more or less different main meals and all our meals were homemade, flavour some and plenty full, after we finished our meals we asked if we could stay for a few beers out side as it appeared to us they were closing, we were invited to an outside table and informed as long as we wanted to sit and drink they would serve us, as we were riding the next day we didn't stay late but we really were made to feel welcome. we would not hesitate to recommend stopping here to either eat, drink or just sit at a table with a coffee chilling out and talking with friends, the river as a back drop is just so relaxing and inviting.

It was too cold that night to sit ourside, but they also have indoor seating. The food was some of the best we had on our vacation. We didn't have any beer, but they also have a good selection of wines from local vineyards. The lady who served us was very friendly.

Regional, vegetarian- and seasonal specialities with Rhine river view
At the beginning of my most recent trip abroad I landed in Frankfurt on 8 October and from the airport took a train to Bacharach, where I'd stay for two nights. I did not stay at the Hotel Kranenturm, but I chose VERY well in making the restaurant my first stop for a meal.I was jet-lagged, needed a meal before sleeping and arrived at the restaurant unfashionably early - in fact I was the first customer, but that worked to my advantage as I had a chance to chat with my charming hostess Fatima and with my excellent waitress, whose name I'm sad to say I've forgotten. I suppose it's a tad too obvious to choose a quintessential German dish for one's first meal there (on this trip, I'd been to Germany before, in fact was stationed there in 1967-68). But the sauerbraten at this restaurant had been highly recommended in more than one guidebook.Right they were, and right happy was I with the choice! I'll let an attached photo do some of the explaining, but this was heaven on a plate - the meat was tender, the sauce absolutely incredible, and the cabbage and potatoes were perfect accompaniments. When I was young I used to drink German wine, but haven't in years. Of course the Rhine is wine central, and Bacharach prides itself on its wines, even over the rest in the area. I can't argue. I let my hostess choose the wine, and she offered a delicious local red that washed down the food wondrous fair. I'm ashamed to say I don't remember the name, but I think it comes from a local vintner named Jost.In addition to very friendly and attentive service and from my above paragraph obviously GREAT food, the restaurant is charmingly set in the old town walls - if the evening had been a bit warmer and less damp I could have sat outside on their porch that overlooks the city park and beyond that, the River Rhine. As it was I had a lovely spot in a lovely dining room, and could see the river from my seat.I understand there are other fine restaurants in Bacharach, but I could not have done better than the Restaurant Kranenturm! I urge anyone who finds her or himself in that area to run, not walk to this excellent restaurant.a quick ps - they were also offering local fresh fish, which I really hungered for as well - I chose the sauerbraten for perhaps tacky-tourist reasons, but Fatima had a joke on me about it - as she wisely noted "The fish is German too!" And of course she was correct - still I was more than content with my choice!

We enjoyed two wine flights and a meat and cheese platter outside on the patio. I had to go inside to order and to pay.

Recommended by Rick Steves, lots of reviews on the web.
A delightful restaurant with seating indoors and on the terrace. There is a good selection of local food, well presented and delicious. The food is supplemented by wine from Fritz Bastian (among others) and the staff are able to recommend suitable wine for the chosen menu items. The helpings are substantial, and I can particularly recommend the Flammkuchen (tarte flambee) - both the "standard" type and also the sweet one (apples, sugar, cinnamon). The courtyard has a number of lovely potted plants, small and large and there is a delightful ambience.

The restaurant is in the middle of this very picturesque city. The interior is beautifully kept and very grand. From the tables on the outside you have a perfect view of what is going on in town. When it comes to food it was classic German, quite heavy food. All dishes very well prepared and with good taste. Nice wines by the glass or bottle with very reasonable prices.

I had a lovely visit to Rusticana after a morning spent visiting Bacharach. The restaurant is homey and cute. For 14.50 euro, I had a generous meal! Meatloaf with mushrooms, salad, delicious vegetable soup and a big pour of riesling! The owners even gave me a pretty postcard as a souvenir. Thank you so much and hope you visit Australia again :)

Beautiful old building thankfully not much altered in five hundred years.Single server/barman/pizza chef working like a blur but managing to cope.Terrific crisp pizzas and a bottle of local Reisling capped a lovely visit (by ferry) to this gem of an historic town. Yes it is close to the autobahn but much better to link with a stop off on a day cruise as we did from Ammanshausen up river.

We were a party of three. I ordered the vegetarian menu. I thought itâs a good restaurant, they would know how to cook anything. Unfortunately, the vegetables had no remaining texture. All cooked way beyond done, you could say mushy. All three courses were disappointing. My husband ate another menu. The food was both adequate and ok, but very much overpriced. My brother was the only person who was pleased with his main course at least, the trout. Also, where we sat on the terrace the floor was sticky where someone had spilt a large amount of wine. All in all, unfortunately one big disappointment. The waitress was nice until I told her about the vegetables. No apology, no gesture to try and fix it. There are so many other places in Bacharach that are not as expensive and offer wonderful food.

We stayed at the hotel for four days and had the breakfast every day. It was good with many many different dishes...3 different juices and smoothie. Salmon, cheese, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages, peanut butter, skyr/yougurt, waffles, pancakes and so on
