Traditional country pub, with a large enclosed garden with kids play area. Offering a warm welcome, traditional pub food Tuesday to Saturday 12-2 and Sunday 12-3 including a home cooked Sunday Roast. Cask Marque approved Ales with a regular guest.
Went to the Three Horseshoes for a couple of quiet Saturday afternoon drinks. Not many in but made for a nice afternoon talking and watching the rugby. Staff are always nice and friendly serving good quality beers and wines. Note to self: must come back for a Sunday roast dinner.

Aââ wonderful 16th century pub in the quaint village of Great Missenden. Set in the Chiltern Hills this little gem offers great food, sourced from the best local suppliers and is the perfect setting to quench your thirst after exploring the historic villa
Sunday lunch in a typical small English town is the thing to do on a sunny Sunday. The Cross Keys played it's part in this quintessential scene. The welcome was warm and friendly. The selection of drink good. The menu, most acceptable. Unfortunately the execution of the food was at best average. Although a nice selection of vegetables accompanied the roast meats, why oh why smother the dish in bland gravy. Such a shame to spoil a classic.Thank you for your review which is a little surprising as we have never had a average review on our Sunday roasts

A warm and welcoming country dining pub with open fire. Muddy boots welcome! People often describe the Alford as a gastro-pub, but we're not really comfortable with that tag. The term sounds too restauranty and cheffy. We've always wanted the Alford to be
We visited today for Sunday lunch after a walk at Ashridge Estate. We visited after reading good reviews on Google. We rang ahead on the morning to book but it was already fully booked as we'd anticipated. Luckily although it was extremely busy and a beautiful day, we managed to secure a seat in the sunny garden. The surroundings are beautiful, down a quiet country lane. The beer selection is fantastic, good to see local breweries bring supported and a good range of low alcohol drinks such as nanny state. The Sunday roast was great except for a quite tight portion of beef, considering the price. The potatoes were also on the salty side. The only other thing we'd give feedback on is that the cutlery was not provided by the waitress and we had to go inside to get this along with the horseradish. Otherwise this would have been a five star review. We'd definitely visit again if in the area.

I meet my Daughter here for lunch every once in a while and for good pub grub i think it just cannot be beaten.Whatever I have whether it be cheese sandwich and chips or something healthier it is always top notch.I have had one of the "specials" the last couple of times I have been there, ribs & then a meat pie with veg and both have been to the standard you would find in a posh restaurant, and probably half the price, staff are friendly too, give it a go you won't be disappointed !!

I visited with some friends when we had been walking at the Ashridge Estate. This was a perfect spot to have lunch. A lovely village location just by the duck pond. Food and drink was excellent, staff helpful and friendly. Quite roomy although best to book if you visit in the evening or at the weekend.
