Cheap eats..very popular mainly mussels, fish with some meat. The wife had the mussels gratin which looked like the dog had been sick on a plate of half shells. She said it was tasty but too sloppy and she nearly had garlic poisoning ..not pleasant to sleep next to. I had the steak which was rare and succulent for one third and tough and overcooked for the rest. My chips were tough and tasteless and the salad was sloppy with an overpowering dressing....won't go back

We found a table outside and asked the waitress if it was ok to sit there, she replied yes. There were still dirty plates, glasses etc. from the previous occupants of the table but we assumed they would be quickly cleared once we were seated! No! After nearly 10 minutes the waitress came to the table, we thought to clear away and ask if we would like a drink while we were waiting. Again, no! She gave us a menu, removed 2 glasses only, left everything else and left without speaking. After 15 minutes, we decided enough was enough, so got up and left. As we didn't actually eat, I cannot comment upon the food!

Subtly combining modernity and authenticity: slates, beautiful modern chandeliers, original lamps from diverted objects. The owner has given free rein to his creativity, between contemporary, authentic and industrial touches: good taste is at the rendezvo
We stayed stayed at the Ibis hotel which was close by and had lunch here on our first day in Bourges. Itâs a pleasant local eatery opposite Les Halles. After looking around town and TA for restaurants for dinner we ended up back here for two evenings. Itâs a lively little restaurant with good food and ambiance. The food is very good and good value. I highly recommend this restaurant but recommend you book for lunch or dinner. It gets very busy with locals. On Fri/Sat nights there is entertainment.Bonjour, Merci pour votre gentil avis. Au plaisir de vous revoir chez La Mere Poule. Toute l'équipe de La Mere Poule

I found this establishment through a friend who I was visiting in Bourges, it is a delightful oasis of friendliness and a gem of a place, food is good and well priced the staff are exceedingly efficient and helpful. If ever you are in Bourges take my advice and make an effort to visit.

Just had an excellent meal. It's just up the road from Bourges Novotel. The food is traditional without being twee, and the staff are very friendly. We had pickled fish and mussels to start, followed by lovely duck confit and an apricot upside down cheesecake for afters. All the food was very tasty and felt very authentic. We would highly recommend this restaurant to any English or French in the area!

Had lunch outside. It was pleasant. I did not the main room for dinning, so was glad to sit outside. I would go back

Very friendly service, very nice food (I had the 3 course lunch, my wife had gambas, the kids had pasta). Honestly, I'd come back without hesitation. Another point in favour: It's not at the very crowded Place Gordaine.

I was traipsing along the streets of Bourges, hoping to find a quiet, accommodating place to have some coffee and lunch. The bistros nearby seemed too smoky and loud, and the patisseries/boulangeries didn't serve coffee. (One place had a coin-op machine for espresso drinks. No. Just no.) I came to Delichou and had a fantastically delicious tarte du jambon et fromage, and coffee. The atmosphere is perfect for me: gentle solo guitar/harp/jazz playing on the system (as opposed to the techno one finds all too often in cafes in Paris) the proprietress was extremely friendly and gracious, and the clientele has been very friendly - I'm sitting near the door and everyone has nodded to me saying, 'Bonjour, Monsieur.' And, according to what my nose is telling me, someone is roasting a turkey in the kitchen. If it isn't turkey it's something else equally delicious-smelling. For a cafe experience in Bourges, one can not do better than Delichou.
