From the middle-priced menu of three, with two choices per course, we both had a delicious starter of leeks and finely chopped duck cracking with a soft boiled egg on a crouton. It was artistically presented on a wooden platter. My main course was a whole baby cockerel and truffled mashed potato, Râs main was a magret de canard. Both were copious and cooked to perfection. There was a choice of veg included, with the truffled mashed potato at a supplement of 2 euros. There was so much of this that we regretted having ordered one each. I remarked that one could barely detect the truffle, and I was very politely told that the chef would be informed, AND they removed the supplement from our bill! By the time you get it, Iâm sure it will be delicious. The café gourmand was pleasant, if not the best we have had. With a half carafe of house red, our bill totaled 64 euros, which considering the charm of the surroundings makes this one of the most enjoyable meals we have had this year.

Gueule et Gosier is a great find, tucked away on a side-street in Sarlat-la-Canéda. We were surprised with the quality of the food, great presentation and wide range of options. The duck appetiser was simply amazing. Duck pie and Pork Belly was also excellent. The seating is on the side street on either side of the side walk - so expect some pedestrian traffic walking through. Although, with the surrounding buildings, the dinner setting was still in a nice ambiance.Service was friendly and fast. We were a table of seven and all food was delivered together in a timely fashion.Overall, highly enjoyed our dinner experience here!

Family restaurant. Master restorer. Open all year for lunch and dinner. Services from 12h to 14h and from 19:00 to 21:00. All dishes are homemade with fresh local products. Beautiful dining rooms, summer terrace.
Our evening began with the server spilling wine on our table. No disaster, but she didnât clean the table until much later after we asked. Also had to ask for a dessert fork. Almost finished dessert since server was hard to find Proprietor began to process change when we were leaving , then left us standing at desk while he seated new customers. Ambiance would have been pleasant but for the sappy Christmas tape playing over and over the most banal songs. This was the only bad restaurant experience we had during our stay in Sarlat-la-CanédaHello,Thank you for your comment. I will not fail to conduct the investigations to understand why the wine stain was not cleaned right away. We put a musical background in our rooms that depends on the days. Maybe you came across one of Mickael Bublé's albums that we like, but I regret that you did not like it. Regarding the meal, I do not read anything about it so I could not answer you on this point.Best regards,Stéphanie

At the gates of Sarlat, in the calm and tranquility, Dupéliac house offers a warm atmosphere with refined and elegant atmosphere invites you to a chic bistro atmosphere. A modern and attractive architecture, bright spaces and floral garden make this area
Maison Dupeliac sits near a roundabout on the outskirts of Sarlat but donât let that fool you. It is a very fine restaurant to rival anything that the more touristy establishments in the centre of town have to offer. We chose their 45 euro table dâhote menu that offered a starter, main course and dessert. Ravioli starter, filet de boeuf main and a strawberry dessert. All were beautifully presented and delicious. Our waiter was very helpful with the wine selection and couldnât have been more attentive. A top notch restaurant in a modern setting. Highly recommended.

You will savour healthy and creative cooking, respecting the genuineness of the flavours, the quality of the products and the rhythm of the seasons. Products are local as much as possible. The cooking is prepared in-house, the desserts are home made.
This is one of the very few places I dined in, where food tasted exactly the way I would have prepared it myself. Quality of ingredients seems great, presentation & taste is excellent. And this comes with great experience of eating on the terrace, with excellent view across Sarlat. My strongest congratulations go to the Cook (Le Chef?) and their team who are doing sterling (and hard) job there trying to keep every customer happy. The only reservation I have is the price that one has to pay for that adventure, and food portions are not overly huge either. The cheaper and equally good alternative - for hotel's residents - is 30 mins steep walk (and steep return later) to Sarlat city centre (naturally for those who want to enjoy a glass or two of excellent wine with their meal - it would be downward rude in France not to do so).Despite that this place seems quite popular though: during our stay it was nearly fully-booked. I am unable to say however what percentage were guests who decided to dine at the foot of their bedrooms.Dear Guest, thank you for your review, we are glad you enjoyed "a great experience of eating on the terrace" with quality of ingredients, excellent presentation and taste.Best wishes,Janetta and Vincent Peyruse, owners
