Very nice and quiet place to relax outside under the sun .The service is not smiling .Food is in the middle range and not worth a trip . Food and wine ( Rosé Chateau Galoupet Provence ) is more acceptable than the service ...Customers mean work and work is not happy ...Better places around Namur to eat !

Wine and More

The place is located in the commercial zone on the outskirts of Namur and, unlike its fancier parent restaurant Agathopede, it's more of a gastropub than a proper restaurant. In fact, it's as if they added an open kitchen to a large wine shop and put in a few tables, bistro-style. You can have wine by glass or buy any bottle from the shop and they will open it for you provided that you pay a corking fee of 15 euros.Their cooking is no doubt original but, in our reckoning, their recipes just do not work, the ingredients do not add up to a whole, they sadly stay distinctly apart. The only exception was the beef carpaccio, the horseradish added just the right amount of spice toned down by beetroot. Avruga caviar (a caviar substitute, made of dyed herring roe) did nothing to enhance either the taste or the look of the entree. Cheese croquettes were all right (using the local Orval cheese) but again, there was nothing to connect them with the tomato confit or the salad. Chicken parmentier was clearly inspired by another Belgian specialty, the waterzooi; I expected however that it would be spicier because of wild garlic but the garlic was totally imperceptible in the resulting dish which was rather bland. Finally, serving seafood pasta (linguine with mussels) with shells in the plate is simply outdated and disrespectful for the customer. In sum, the cuisine is a disappointment and not worth the money you pay for it or a detour.Dear customer,We understand that your tastes are specials, but you are mistaken for caviar, wild garlic, Parmentier and pasta with clams. You do not seem to have recognized the right ingredients or do not know their characteristics. We do not want to maintain a misunderstanding about your very subjective opinion. We hope to see you soon for enjoying our other dishes.W&M

Friendly service, comfortable outdoor seating. My salade Nicoise was very fresh and tasty with plenty of anchovies. My wife enjoyed her beef carpaccio, which was also very fresh and high quality. Reasonable value for money.
