Have tried this restaurant twice now, once in it's previous guise as Hors-Piste back in March, and more recently as its' summer face Le 108. Both times all I can say is this is not great dining or even good bistro food. It is food anyone can prepare themselves for a fraction of what is being charged. This time around.......2 salads, mostly lettuce, and frozen fish with chips, or rice.....more lettuce, half a carafe of local rose wine, bill = 44 euros! That price was reduced because I had to send my uncooked frozen fish back.......the cook said "oh dear, that sometimes happens".......no it doesn't! There is no excuse for sending out frozen food not cooked! It is a basic... The place is actually much nicer inside than you would imagine from the exterior, it does have a rear terrace area. On the outside though the paintwork is shabby and there are weeds everywhere making it looked closed down. Inside it is bright, has nice stone walls and practical table and chairs. Shame about the look from the road as you drive up.If you can't be bothered to cook yourself and are prepared to pay over the top for the privilege of someone else doing it then have a great time.Sorry Le 108, but there is a lot of competition around here and you really need to do better. You may grab a few tourists who are never coming back but the locals won't either.

Dominant le vignoble de Montagne Saint-Emilion, un univers alliant une cuisine traditionnelle du terroir, une gastronomie creative et elegante . Terrasse ombragee, Restaurant Gastronomique, Bistro et Gastronomie a emporter
We were lucky enough to visit Le Clos Mirande with friends who live locally. From the pre-dinner drinks overlooking the beautiful countryside to the delicious three course meal, everything was delightful. Our young waiter was knowledgeable and attentive without being intrusive. The whole evening was perfect. Congratulations!
Where to eat Deli food in Montcaret: The Best Restaurants and Bars
On this rainy day we were in St Foy trying to fix some rail tickets. Across from "La Gare" was a small hotel restaurant, Le Cafe de la Gare. Definitely not gourmet, our lunch was filling. Peter & I had properly cooked (but tough as nails) steak and fries. Pat & Steph had the de Jour menu of chicken in pasta, salad & spinach soup, and peach melba for dessert. They definitely had the better of two marginal options! We had a carafeâ each of red and roseâ wine, too. The food was OK, the service good, and the price low. There is truth in the old saying, "You get what you pay for."

A simple place, perfect for a lighting lunch. We each chose from a selection of platters - mainly charcuterie and cheese, served with lovely fresh bread. When we were ready to order wine, we were three samples to taste from the friendly waitress, who explained the qualities of each. The one we chose was one of the best on the visit. Very good value.
