With no great expectations we stopped for lunch at the Café Lions having spent an interesting morning touring the small town of Saint Cézaire sur Siange near Grasse, Provence, France.We enjoyed our traditional French lunch fare with one âformuleâ two course lunch with a glass of wine for â¬14 and the other order a plat du jour Steak and frites for â¬15.50. Nice surroundings in a charming village, very welcoming staff and a quiet location on a warm Autumn afternoon made this a very enjoyable lunch stop.

We were staying with friends nearby and they were keen to take us to one of their favourite restaurants. It must have been an off day because we were kept waiting for 40 minutes until we received drinks and had our orders taken. Others who arrived after us were served before. It made us a bit edgy and we couldnât relax which was a pity. Our friends said that this âwas Franceâ but that didnât ring true. French waiters are some of the best in the world. No way would a good waiter leave you for so long without even a drink in front of you!!Anyway this wasnât a good experience.Très cher Monsieur,The best answer is one from compatriot ! Lovely restaurant with friendly staff and great food. Menu is short but everyone on our table was very happy with their meals.

On friday nights a band plays the actual restaurant is tiny but has a nice terrace. The food you have the choice between two starters two mains and two deserts. If you are in a rush do not go there. Friendly staff. With aperitif good wine and digestive I found the bill a bit stiff but the menu itself is around 20 euros a head. Nice place to enjoy the music accoustic guitars when we went.
